• #7 I used to deal drugs, now I headhunt CEOs remotely - The Anonymous J
    Mar 20 2024

This is a really interesting interview, my guest will be staying anonymous to protect himself & his career. We'll call our guest J. His story is incredibly honest, and powerful. This interview will stay with you - I believe we all have something to learn from it. I met J on the nomad cruise, and he had an incredible life story that I really wanted to share with you guys. Beginning his early adult life as a homeless teenager, he manoeuvred himself into becoming a very successful drug dealer. His stories of this life are marked by a raw transparency, and an honesty about the true reality of the lifestyle. And a fascinating look into what career progression actually looks like in a black market industry. But what really makes his story all that much more inspiring and worth hearing is that he successfully got out of the drug world, and transitioned into the world of headhunting and recruitment. His entrepreneurialism and work ethic , the soft skills you could say , that he learned from being an entrepreneur on the black market helped him make a smooth transition. His story of getting his first job after leaving the drug game is incredibly memorable. 00:00 Intro 01:37 My parents history 08:04 Running away from home and mother 13:01 Introduction of drugs into my life 16:51 How I developed a drug dealing business 28:09 Gun threat and desire to leave the drug world 32:00 Buying a house from 2 agreed deals with the strongest mafia in Belgium 37:18 Delivery of the biggest deal we've ever had to the mafia mansion 42:44 Exiting the weed business 49:27 Would I recommend the drug dealing business? 52:30 How I became a successful headhunter 1:06:23 Establishment of my company and living the dream life 1:09:01 Final words

I met Andrew Jacoby and immediately wanted to interview him when he told me he runs a successful business in Macedonia and that he recently found God and is on a mission to promote Classical Philosophy and Theology - two topics that I've been studying for years.

He tells his very interesting life story, an adventure that begins with a broken heart, a connection to music and his decades long spiritual search that at one point saw him joining a cult, but in the end led him to Christ.

He also shares his experience building a company in Macedonia and how his philosophy and faith informs how he looks at business and entrepreneurialism. Starting with a $500 client, and turning his airbnb into a call center he eventually built into a 150 person company.
