  • Episode 33: AT to LT
    Feb 10 2024

A career change in your late 20's is never an easy decision to make. Sacrificing nearly 10 years of a career to go out and start something new is hard. That is what I did when I hung it up as an athletic trainer to become a commissioned officer in the United States Army.

I hope you like this episode, it is from the heart, and it connects a lot of the dots as to why I am here doing what I am today.

  • Episode 30: Growth Through Struggle
    Jan 20 2024

Failure is only permanent if you allow it to be. The concept of Growth Through Struggle empowers leaders at the top, and subordinate leadership to go out, do the job, learn from mistakes and create a better outcomes from the lessons learned. Dwight D. Eisenhower was a champion of this idea as the Supreme Allied Commander during World War Two, and every leader moving forward should be as well.

  • Episode 27: Tribe
    Dec 30 2023

In this week's episode we discuss Sebastian Junger's book Tribe. The idea that the ancient way of life, the native way of living in a community that is centered around the greater good of the people doing the work is one lost on modern society.

However, this idea is not new. There are accounts from the early Colonial days in America of men and women leaving the modern world to integrate themselves into the native Tribes.

In 2023, nearly 2024 we need to analyze that way of life, and see how it can be applied to our nation moving forward. The take aways from this book at tremendous. Purchase it for yourself and think about what you can do to get back to the tribe mindset.

In this episode we finalize our Antarctic Leadership mini series highlighting the work and leadership practices of Roald Amundsen and Ernest Shackleton.

Both men led incredible expeditions across Antarctica but they were at the top of their game. Their ability to lead in the most dire of circumstances, ask questions, and allow their people to execute led to them being two of the most successful leaders during the Heroic Age of Exploration.
