Previously Learnt : Life Lessons From Notable People

By: James Shaw
  • Summary

  • Have you thought about the life lessons your children will be able to learn after you're gone?

We were faced with this question following the loss of close family.

Life doesn't come with a manual.

In a nutshell, the premise of the podcast is borrowing the life experiences of some notable people from various fields so that our children can learn from them in the future.

Each episode features a conversation with someone who has achieved big things in their own chose field.

Our hope is that your children and ours can listen to these legends of our lifetime when they're growing up, in order to get insightful life lessons they can apply in their own

  • Living Our Life As The Lead Character - with Record Breaking Disabled Adventurer, Darren Edwards
    Sep 8 2024

On this episode of Previously Learnt, I was incredibly fortunate to be joined by the truly inspirational Darren Edwards.

Darren is a record breaking disabled adventurer and award winning keynote speaker. He is the best selling author and founder of Adaptive Expeditions.

Darren survived a devasting and life changing climbing accident that very nearly cost him his life and left him permanently disabled from the chest down.

This chat was amazing, Darren is an incredibly inspirational and humble human being. You could sense his positivity and I was left in awe after speaking with him.

This was a powerful chat in perseverance, resilience and accountability. We also spoke of marginal gains and needing exposure to failure.

There was so much to this chat, too much to list, but other topics include the need to talk ; looking forwards, not backwards ; how to tackle a huge challenge ; your why and sense of purpose and learning from setbacks

There are some sensitive subjects discussed in this episode, so please do remember one of the topics that comes up quite a lot on Previously Learnt, the importance of talking
