    युद्ध के बाद हुए अश्वमेध यज्ञ हुआ। द्वारका के स्त्री-पुरुषों को बचाते हुए अर्जुन को अपनी कला की क्षति का भान हुआ। गान्धारी के शाप के कारण द्वारका में यदुवंशियों का संहार हो गया और श्रीकृष्ण व बलराम जी अपने परमधाम को चले गए। परीक्षित को हस्तिनापुर का राज्य सौंपकर युधिष्ठिर तथा अन्य पाण्डव ने वनगमन किया। केवल युधिष्ठिर सदेह देवलोक को गए एवं उनके अन्य भाई और द्रौपदी मार्ग में ही यमलोक प्रस्थान कर गए।Ashwamedha Yagya was performed after the war. Arjuna realized the loss of his art while saving the men and women of Dwarka. Due to the curse of Gandhari, the Yaduvanshis were killed in Dwarka and Shri Krishna and Balram ji went to their supreme abode. Handing over the kingdom of Hastinapur to Parikshit, Yudhishthira and other Pandavas went to exile. Only Yudhishthira Sadeh went to Devlok and his other brothers and Draupadi left for Yamlok on the way.

    दुर्योधन के सरोवर के जाने के पूर्व कौरवों की सम्पूर्ण 11 अक्षोहिणी सेना समाप्त हो चुकी थी। कृतवर्मा, कृपाचार्य और अश्वत्थामा के अतिरिक्त कोई भी महारथी दुर्योधन की सेना में शेष नहीं बचा था। धृतराष्ट्र के अन्तिम 12 पुत्रों का वध करने के बाद भीमसेन ने दुर्योधन को भी गदा युद्ध में मार दिया।Before Duryodhana left for the lake, the entire 11 Akshohini army of the Kauravas had been destroyed. Apart from Kritavarma, Kripacharya and Ashwatthama, none of the great charioteers were left in Duryodhana's army. After killing the last 12 sons of Dhritarashtra, Bhimsen also killed Duryodhana in a mace fight.

    रणभूमि के इस युद्ध में 17वें दिन कर्ण पाण्डव सेना में भीषण नरसंहार करता हुआ आगे बढ़ता गया और उसने चेदि देश के अनेकों वीरों को मार डाला। इसके उत्तर में पाण्डव भी शान्त नहीं रहे और कर्ण के पुत्रों के साथ-साथ, दुःशासन सहित अन्य धृतराष्ट्र पुत्र भी यमलोक गमन कर गए। युद्ध के अन्त में अर्जुन द्वारा कर्ण का वध भी हो गया और कौरव सेना शोकग्रस्त होकर अपने शिविर में लौट गई।In this battle of the Ranbhoomi, on the 17th day, Karna went ahead with a gruesome massacre of the Pandava army and killed many heroes of the Chedi country. In response to this, the Pandavas also did not remain calm and along with Karna's sons, Dushasan and other Dhritarashtra sons also went to Yamaloka. At the end of the war, Karna was also killed by Arjuna and the Kaurava army mournfully returned to their camp.

    द्रोण के मारे जाने के बाद अश्वत्थामा ने कर्ण को सेनापति बनाए जाने का प्रस्ताव रखा जिस पर दुर्योधन ने अपनी सहमति जताई। अर्जुन ने संशप्तकों के कई सहस्त्र योद्धाओं का वध कर दिया और कौरव सेना में भगदड़ मच गई। रणभूमि के इस युद्ध में सोलहवें दिन पाण्डव सेना प्रसन्नचित्त होकर अपने शिविर में लौटी।   After Drona was killed, Ashwatthama proposed to make Karna the commander-in-chief, to which Duryodhana agreed. Arjuna killed several thousand warriors of Samsaptaks and there was a stampede in the Kaurava army. On the sixteenth day of this battlefield, the Pandava army returned to their camp in a happy mood.

    पन्द्रहवें दिन तक पहुँचते-पहुँचते रणभूमि के युद्ध में नियम जैसा कुछ भी शेष नहीं बचा था। इस दिन द्रोण ने कई-कई योद्धाओं को मृत्यु से आलिंगन करवाया। श्रीकृष्ण के सुझाव पर असत्य का सहारा लेकर भीमसेन ने अश्वत्थामा के मारे जाने की सूचना द्रोण तक पहुँचाई। युधिष्ठिर द्वारा इस बात का सत्यापन भी किया गया। अन्ततः द्रोण को धृष्टद्युम्न ने निःशस्त्र अवस्था में मार दिया। जिस पर क्रोधित होकर अश्वत्थामा ने पाण्डव सेना पर नारायणास्त्र का सन्धान किया।


    By the time the fifteenth day reached, there was nothing left like rules in the battle of the Ranbhoomi. On this day Drona got many warriors embraced by death. By resorting to lies on the suggestion of Shri Krishna, Bhimsen conveyed the information of Ashwatthama's death to Drona. This was also verified by Yudhishthira. Finally, Drona was killed by Dhrishtadyumna in an unarmed state. Enraged by this, Ashwatthama attacked the Pandava army with Narayanastra.

Bhimsen kills many  sons of Dhritarashtra while Drona kills several Pandavas soldiers. But ultimately Arjuna succeeded in killing Jayadratha.
