This was an honour of a chat; I got to learn more about the fantastic charity that is Chapters for Change. I got to learn more about what they do and how they support the people of Cambodia at a grass roots level to read and have real access to books. I also got to chat spinning plates with Danielle Binks! I am SO excited for Six Summers of Tash and Leopold, it completely sounds like it will be perfection!

  • ReadA Book Podcast- Julie Bennett The Lost Letters of Rose Carey
    Jun 26 2024

I was absolutely captivated by this novel, the mystery, the diving, the letters...I loved the modern day timeline just as much as I did the 1920s and could not turn the pages fast enough.
I did spend considerable time just gushing about hoe much I loved it, I have cut a lot of that out, and I also must apologise again for not hitting record sooner, the reason why it sounds like I just launched in is because I was gushing too much and failed to hit record..such a rookie mistake that I have no excuse for, please forgive me x

I LOVED The Story Thief, I thought it was just such an all encompassing coming of age Australian novel. This is my first post new job podcast, I am back baby!!!!! And what a way to come back! I got to chat with bestselling author Fiona Lowe!!! What a treat!!!! The Accident is an incredible book, I was so lucky to read an early copy and super lucky to chat with Fiona about it and goodness, women choosing not to have children, women desperately wanting children, grief and weddings..we cover a lot!!! Hope you find it interesting and spoiler free; I am super conscious of the fact you may not have had a chance to read The Accident yet! But you will be wanting to bump it up after listening to Fiona! She is wonderful!
I also left our chat in at the end which was just chitchat, Fiona asked about my job and I thought I should leave it in there so I can apologise for wanting you to come back to my podcast even though I've completely been MIA for so long! I'm managing the Dymocks Bondi Junction store and it was a steeper learning curve than I was ready for, but that makes it even better and more rewarding to be back!!!
