I recently spoke with a man at one of our recovery houses about his journey and what led him to recovery. He shared that he had lost three of his children, one of whom passed away in his arms. This devastating loss made him feel like a failure and a terrible father, leading him into a downward spiral of addiction. However, he recounted a pivotal moment when he met Lisa. She shared her own story about her son, describing him as an angel whom God had loaned to her for a few years before returning him to heaven. Lisa's perspective that children are angels belonging to God and heaven profoundly impacted him, sparking a transformation in his life and helping him begin to heal. Lisa's story is incredibly powerful and offers a profound journey of recovery that few people experience.
