  • #127 Vocal Cord Coordination Warm Up
    Sep 19 2024

Vocal cord coordination is key in helping you hit clear crisp notes and also helps eliminate the bridge or any breaks in your voice.

Be careful and gentle with your voice during this session. The movements and sounds are SMALL. Don't aim with your ears in trying to hit or push up to notes, trust the coordination of the muscles and vocal cords to GENTLY come together to do the work.

It may take a little bit of time to get used to doing it and to access this consistently, but once you do, you'll be able to access more power with less effort and remove fear of vocal breaks and cracks.

I hope you enjoy this short but effective training session!

  • #124: Vocal Health & Rehab for Touring Artists | Voice Coaching Tips for Summer Festival Season
    Aug 12 2024

Summer festival season is in full swing, and if you're a touring artist or singer feeling the strain on your voice, you're not alone.

Whether it's the stress of being on tour, the impact of wildfire smoke, or just the sheer demand of back-to-back performances, your voice might be feeling tired, stressed, or even strained.

This video offers a gentle vocal health and rehab program designed specifically to help you manage vocal inflammation and support your voice when it's most needed.

    In this video, we'll cover:

    • Essential voice coaching tips for singers on tour
    • Strategies to protect your vocal health during stressful times
    • Gentle vocal rehab exercises for tired or strained voices
    • How to manage vocal damage and inflammation
    • The importance of being mindful and not pushing through vocal pain

Remember, this is not about expanding your vocal range or increasing power—it's about gently preparing your voice for continued use without causing further strain.

Always consult your doctor or ENT if you're experiencing long-term issues, pain, or anything unusual with your voice. Your vocal health is crucial, and pushing through pain can lead to long-term or even permanent damage.

Stay safe, be gentle with your voice, and let's keep those performances going strong! 🌟🎤

  • 121: Mix Power! How To Use Your Mix Voice for Power Vocals
    Jul 20 2024

Are you ready to have some fun?

Not until you have warmed up though!!

I've included a quick 10 minute warm up on this session to prep you for accessing your mix voice for POWER VOCALS!

This is so much fun when done correctly. You won't feel any stress or strain on your voice but you will be able to hit high notes with ease. If you do feel stress or strain, or any kind of tension or unpleasant sensations, please stop and check your form and approach. You can build power gradually. Remember the power comes from your air, not pushing from your throat.

Have fun exploring how much power you can create using your vocal mix, and remember, it may take time to develop the power the higher you go, but be patience, allow for flexibility and don't be afraid to sound bad! Lean into the nasal angry cat tones to find the right form, then use your vocal tract to perfect the tone you want, and to sound more like you.

    Good Luck & Have Fun!

Please use the code mixvoice to join me for a one on one private session and save $40 off a virtual lesson.

You can purchase the session here.

Once you have paid for your session you can use the virtual calendar to schedule or email emma@rockitvocalstudios.com to book your time.
