S1 Ep8: Humans are glitchy

  • Summary

  • Engineering leaves little room for failure. We want bridges to stand and airplanes to fly. But humans make mistakes - we're glitchy - and artistic progress often comes from failure. We conclude our first series of the Art and AI podcast by identifying the essential tension between the ideal models that drive engineering, and the messy reality of the human condition.

Participants include Vanessa Brassey, Patrick Butlin, Chlöe Reddaway, Cari Hyde-Vaamonte, Stephen Whiteman, Joanna Zylinska, Michael Luck, Sacha Golob, Michelle Fletcher and Ali Hossaini.

Art and AI is a new podcast series from the National Gallery and King's College London. In it, we discuss what the future of art looks like in a world of AI with art historians, literary critics and theologians.

The Art and AI Podcast is presented by National Gallery X, the Centre for Philosophy and Art at King's College London, and the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Hub.
