This week we're joined by Kelsey Beckert!

Kelsey Beckert. Performer. Teacher. Caregiver. Student. A true jack of all trades and master of nothing. After returned to New York City after touring all over North America on two National Tours for the better part of 3 years, Kelsey desired a career change. (Quarter-life crisis much?) At that time, her love for working with children was beginning to surpass her love for performing. It was also at that time when she heard about the field of Child Life. Instinctually, she knew that being a certified child life specialist was what she wanted to do. But, life kept going, she kept performing, and that new dream was placed on the back burner. Cue COVID-19. After obtaining her Yoga Teacher certification during the lockdown, Kelsey was still not satisfied. Who would’ve thought that a year into a global pandemic was when she finally found the clarity (and confidence!) to pursue that dream of being a certified child life specialist? Now 18 months and 7 online courses later, she is well on her way to obtaining this new career and new life for herself. After letting go of her doubts, fears, and insecurities about this career shift (a big thank you to deleting social media apps off of her phone), Kelsey is happier than ever and living the life that she always imagined.
