It celebrates the strong women and survivors who share their stories of triumph over adversity, including Dr. Annie Farmer, a licensed psychologist and survivor of Jeffrey Epstein. Strong tackles many issues and topics in our society, including sexual abuse, assault, domestic violence, the Me Too movement, and much more.    Women face misogyny, sexual exploitation and dehumanization every day. Women and survivors of sexual abuse are often shunned after coming out with their stories, as seen in the widely discussed Me Too movement. Strong offers survivors a chance to discuss their experiences and advocate for change.    Hosts Barbra Neumann and Tessa Torrence Neumann are passionate advocates for women, survivors and the Me Too movement. Barbra is a women’s advocate and mother of seven children. Her extensive experience in the music industry has exposed her to the rampant sexual abuse and exploitation within the industry.    Tessa is an advocate, songwriter, entrepreneur, and mother of three children. Tessa is a survivor of sexual abuse, suffering extensive abuse from a family friend at a young age. Though she faced harassment and threats after coming out about her abuse, Tessa devotes her time to advocate for other survivors and ensure the cycle of sexual abuse is put to an end.    Together, Barbra and Tessa open the conversation surrounding sexual abuse. They listen and support survivors and experts like Dr. Annie Farmer.    Strong aims to provide a safe space for survivors to discuss their experiences with sexual abuse and exploitation. As seen through the growing importance of the Me Too movement, the conversation surrounding sexual abuse is coming to the forefront of society. Women and survivors must be uplifted and heard. Strong provides the platform for them to share their stories in their words, uncensored.    Dr. Annie Farmer on silencing survivors- “I think there’s such a long history of people being silenced when they tried to speak out about their experiences of abuse. Silenced by the perpetrators, silenced by institutions, and I’m grateful it seems like there is a shift happening and people are expressing more of a willingness to hear and to believe people who have had these experiences of abuse.” - Dr. Annie Farmer   Sexual Assault & Abuse | Me Too | Women’s Advocate | Survivors   See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
