Pooja Bhatt is an Indian film actress, model and film producer. Her father Mahesh Bhatt is an Indian film director. As a 17-year-old, Pooja Bhatt debuted on screen in 1989 with Daddy, a television film directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt. The biggest solo hit of her career, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi (1991), marked her big-screen debut. Her most famous films in the 1990s include Sadak (1991) with Sanjay Dutt, Junoon with Rahul Roy, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi (1991) with Aamir Khan, Sir (1993), Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Ai (1993), Tadipaar (1993), Ghuneghar (1994), Naraaz (1994) with Mithun Chakraborty, Bodyguard with Sunny Deol (1995), Chahat (1996), Tamannaah (1997) with Shah Rukh Khan, the super-hit and Multi-starer Border (1997) and Zakhm (1998).

Mira Nair is an Indian-American filmmaker based in New York City. Her production company name is Mirabai Films. Her best-known films include Mississippi Masala, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, The Namesake, The Golden Lion, Monsoon Wedding, and Salaam Bombay! It received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film.

The Indian filmmaker and screenwriter Zoya Akhtar (born 14 October 1972) works in Hindi film. The Indian film producer, screenwriter, and director Kiran Rao (born 7 November 1973) works primarily in Hindi cinema. Rao founded the non-profit Paani Foundation in 2016, whose mission is to fight drought in Maharashtra.

She started her career as an assistant director on the epic film Lagaan directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, with whom she also assisted on Swades: We, the People. In the foreign language film category, Lagaan was nominated for the 74th Academy Awards. The film was produced and starred by Aamir Khan. Before Lagaan, she was also seen in Dil Chahta Hai in a supporting role. Also, she was a second assistant director on the indie hit Monsoon Wedding under Oscar-nominated director Mira Nair.

In January 2011, she directed and scripted the film Dhobi Ghat under Aamir Khan Productions. She is now writing her next film, which will be based in Kolkata.
