  • Hello and welcome to The Shaman Podcast.  I am Mark Ashford.  I am a Registered Usui Tibetan Reiki Master Teacher, a Shaman and author of books and online courses on Reiki and Shamanism. Earth The Earth is one of the five elements of Tibetan shamanism. Earth nurtures and feeds the plants and trees with nutrients and a stable and encouraging place for them to grow. Now is the time to look at your own dreams and goals, plans and thoughts. Look at what you have planted in terms of your desires and dreams yesterday, last week, last month, last year. How are they growing? How can you nurture them?  This is the time to look at your dreams and goals and plant new ones, new ideas, and start what is needed to make them grow, and, like a good gardener work at supporting and helping dreams and goals that have been in the earth for a while. Perhaps some of them need more nutrients to help them grow and blossom, and some will need to be taken away as they have not grown.  But also, like a talented gardener, allow and encourage the ideas that welcome and encourage the ideas that are unexpected, unusual and new. They have just as much a need for nutrients and tending as the ones you planted yourself. Birds Birds fly freely in the air. Air or space is one of the five elements in Tibetan Shamanism. It is important because it is all around us and in us. We breathe it, we travel through it. Air contains the oxygen we need to breathe to live. Birds sing as they fly and use the air in their lungs to make the sounds we hear and appreciate through the air.  Birds come to you now to urge you to spread your wings like the birds that fly. To spread your wings and explore unknown places, people, things, culture, language and meaning.  This may mean moving jobs, or just changing furniture in your home, your car, your hobbies. It also means to refresh friendships and relationships. You can refresh a relationship through words and deeds.  It is now time to plan and think about how you want to soar more freely than you have done so before. What next?
