Originally from Brooklyn, New York, with parents from Trinidad and Tobago, Casandra graduated college with a BA degree in Mass Media Arts at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA, where she resided for many years and now has her master’s degree in Adult Education.

She is an avid reader and proud to have published over 15 books.

Casandra loves to travel and explore and has a bucket list of places to visit a mile long as she slowly begins to check off a new destination every few months. She lives by many mottos, but her favorite one is “Live Laugh Love,” which is also tattooed on her left arm to remind her every day to Live today, Laugh often, and Love always.

Today's Special Guest is Shanti Hershenson, Shanti Hershenson’s first two novellas were published when she was in the sixth grade, although her writing journey started long before then. Ever since she could hold a pencil, marker, or crayon, she was creating stories. They started from pictures, mere scribbles, and eventually, turned into captivating tales.

II Chronicles 34 details the reign of King Josiah of Judah, who began ruling at the young age of eight and reigned for 31 years. Josiah was notable for his devotion to God, following in the ways of his ancestor David. In the eighth year of his reign, he began to seek God earnestly, and by his twelfth year, he initiated widespread religious reforms, including the removal of idols and altars to foreign gods throughout Judah and Jerusalem. In the eighteenth year of his reign, during temple renovations, the Book of the Law was discovered. Upon hearing its words, Josiah was deeply moved and sought to renew the covenant with God, leading the people in a pledge to follow the commandments. His reforms led to a revival of true worship and a return to the ways of God.

II Chronicles 33 covers the reigns of Manasseh and his son Amon, both kings of Judah. Manasseh, who reigned for 55 years, did evil in the sight of the Lord by rebuilding high places, erecting altars for Baal, and worshipping foreign gods, leading Judah astray. His actions provoked God's anger, resulting in his capture by the Assyrians. In captivity, Manasseh repented and prayed to God, who heard his plea and restored him to his kingdom. Upon his return, Manasseh removed the foreign idols and restored true worship in Judah. After Manasseh’s death, his son Amon became king and continued the evil practices, but his reign was short-lived as he was assassinated by his servants.
