SkyPilot Sundays - The Pilot EpisodeThe pilot episode is all about the journey of finding self love. Here are my top ten tips that you can use in your own life to cultivate self love. These are just ten bulleted points that have worked for me in my life and experience, and hopefully you can find at least one that resonates with you. My top ten ways to cultivate self love:#1: Learn patience: When you can become patient with where you are and take responsibility for your life, patience can lead to being tranquil and you accepting the present moment. #2 Look in the mirror until you can see yourself: I can say, in my own experience, that I personally did not feel attractive for a long time. A lot of that had to do with stories that were told to me by the outside world—being told that I would never find somebody better, that I was only worthy of “x” amount of attention or love, that I was worthy of anything…until I learned to find that within myself. #3 Give more: Childhood patterns of lack had led me to take. That changed when I discovered abundance all around. #4 Be mindful: What are you subscribing to? What are you tuned into? What are you reaffirming for yourself? I am building my life around a thesis, which is: The soundtrack of your life can lead to self love. For me, the music writing and recording process Bega to flow easier once I began the journey of loving myself. #5 Be watchful of the internal versus the external: Ask yourself: how do I talk to me? Trying to please everybody else, that’ll lead you to a burnout, It’s not sustainable. Being able to be happy with who you are, starting with how you talk to yourself, will then translate into how you talk to others, how others will respond to you. Remember, reality is just a reflection of what’s on the inside, so stop looking everywhere else for that fix. #6 Get rid of toxic people: Sometimes, these can be some of those closest to you, and can be one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. Like a snake sheds its skin, that’s what it felt like for me. It felt like my skeleton was being ripped from my body in this experience of separation from loved ones. In actuality, I was going through a process of surrendering people and energies no longer serving me. Sometimes, you just need to know when to say “no” and walk away. #7: Don’t be afraid to ask for help: An unbiased view of the situation is critical for success. Sometimes friends and family can mean well, but only have a fraction of the whole picture when giving advice. Therapy and counseling were crucial for me and my growth. #8 Surrender perfection: I try not to use words anymore like “perfect” or “flawless.” You can Those are illusions. You can strive for perfection. You can strive for flawlessness. If you can learn to be at peace with the darkness, you will no doubt find your own light. #9 Go the extra mile: This is not something that may come easy. In doing more than you have to, no matter how big or small the action, will move you into a place of self acceptance. Once you accept yourself, loving yourself will come with it. #10 Step into purpose: As I once heard it put, “You can’t have one foot on the dock and one foot on the boat.” that resonated because I always cared too much about what other epode would think of me to make my own decisions. What you are definite about a decision, a choice, and you not only speak it, but step into action, trust me, you will begin to feel the universe on your side.

From witnessing his family struggle, to questioning his own belief systems, and eventually selling prized personal possessions to afford the camera equipment he’d need in order to tell his story through the lens of his father.  For listeners interested in contributing to Han Allred’s funding for the project, donations are currently being accepted through March on Kickstarter.com. • SkyPilot Sundays feat. artist Sam Girl
    Apr 12 2020
What makes you happy? Like, really happy?I can say I was happy to have a conversation this week with pop artist Sam Girl to discuss the concept of happiness in our lives. Not just the fleeting, momentary happiness we all experience, but ultimately the kind of happiness that sustains each of us over time.  I feel that if and when we can overcome the inevitable moments of darkness, and even bouts of depression we as human beings can find ourselves up against, we must get to a place of fulfillment by finding something worthy of doing or becoming.  I loved getting to dive into the mind and life experiences of Sam Girl as she talks about her own becoming, childhood, and working through low points that found her feeling unfulfilled for a time. But after every dark night is a bright day. Listeners, I hope you find your own happiness with the help of this week’s episode.  Check out more episodes at skypilotsundays.com Follow us on Instagram @skypilotsundays

  • SkyPilot Sundays feat. Joshua Fowler, Entrepreneur
    Apr 19 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic is a crisis unlike anything we've seen in modern times. The daily loss of life and disruption of normalcy has been traumatic on many levels. Beyond the human cost, there has also been a secondary, but significant economic cost. In this episode, we examine the impact on small business owners, as well as ways they can adapt. My guest is entrepreneur and dispensary owner Joshua Fowler. We talk innovation, adaptation, philosophy, and business growth in these trying times. While many businesses have locked their doors, uncertain of whether or not they will be able to open again, Fowler remains optimistic. Due in part to dispensaries being categorized as an “essential service” by many states, Joshua and I discuss the current state of the cannabis industry, the business climate during COVID-19, and delve into his humble beginnings while immersing himself into his craft, and finally launching a business startup.
