In 2022, a 10-year-old boy accessed his mother’s lockbox and used her own weapon against her. Although there is testimony suggesting his actions were intentional, the court system is still deliberating whether convicting a 10-year-old child and sentencing him to 60 years in prison is an appropriate punishment for his mother’s death.     We understand that there are states where it is acceptable for a person to carry a weapon. One would like all the people who carry to be responsible and there are many who are. There are people who carry for protection and keep them in a place where only they have access, but there are people at the other end who are not careful and that is why accidents and tragic murders happen. This case has to do with this problem. This is the tragic murder of Abrielle Baldwin.
