in 1973, Barry's ambition to launch the Love Unlimited Orchestra meets resistance. He creates an Instrumental Thunderbolt which hits number one in the UK and US. All of a sudden he can't stop recording music.

Barry catches the eye of Larry Nunes. He gets his first act, Love Unlimited, a record deal as an A&R executive and goes into the studio to begin recording his own demos.
