  • Intermission: Remember Your Creator
    Mar 23 2021

    In this intermission, we look at the importance of taking the time to admire God’s power and handiwork despite the earth’s corruption.

    Here are a few takeaways:

    1. God is not absent

    We are not a people without hope while we live here. God is present and - Romans 1 affirms what we all know in our hearts.

    Romans 1:19-20

    19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

    God cares about all of His creation to include human beings and God doesn’t make mistakes.

    God is proud of His work and He loves all of it. He took a day off to rest and admire it. When it fell He committed Himself to saving His work and restoring all things back to normal.

    2. God is in full control

    God didn’t create the earth for Himself. It was created for us and without Him everything we do is futile.

    Romans 8:18-21

    18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

    3. God gives meaning

    This is the world we live in. But as Believers, no matter what happens to us in life, because we are in Christ, because we remember our Creator, life has meaning. Not in and of itself, but in and of God.

    Ecclesiastes 12:1

    Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”;
