  • SOBY NINAN - FROM SURVIVOR TO PROVIDER
    Oct 13 2023
Unlike any of the episodes I've done on this podcast, the guest in this episode is someone I've known since childhood. It's a bizarre thing, but the closer we are to people, the lesser is our grasp of what makes them great or extraordinary. In college, Soby had aspirations of working in the hospitality industry. However, right at the brink of making his dream come true, a life-changing traumatic event changed everything. Shockingly, thousands of people dying and being greviously injured as a consequence of falling off crowded suburban trains in Mumbai is a common incidence, even today. My guest for this episode, Soby Ninan, is a rare survivor of such an incident. We talk about his aspirations and dreams before the incident, his experiences in the hospitality industry, the darkness he found himself after the incident, and his journey from being a survivor to much more... a thriver. Hopefully, this conversation will throw light on how as humans, challenges and trauma are not just things that happen to us, but rather the journey that has chosen us to let us reach who we actually are.
