  • Friday the 13th (1980)
    Sep 13 2024

Greetings! In this episode I nerd out for about 30ish minutes on the 1980 Sean S. Cunningham classic FRIDAY THE 13th. That's right. The OG Friday. The one without the hockey mask-wearing, machete-wielding lake demon, known as Jason Voorhees.

Disclaimer: Jason was NOT the original killer in Friday the 13th... something that anyone who has ever seen SCREAM (1996) is more than aware of.

Why you should listen: I discuss a little bit of the origins to Friday the 13th as a folklore. I breakdown the film a little bit. I offer a little personal perspective. And, yes, I share the scathing Gene Siskel review of this film.

This is a fun(ish) one. Enjoy!

    Sep 10 2024

Greetings! In this week's episode Bob LeMent (Static Radio) returns to the show to discuss the 2023 Wes Anderson film, ASTEROID CITY.

Y'all are in for a treat. This conversation might be my favorite of this season.

Oh! And before you ask. My Mount Rushmore of Wes Anderson films are as follows: Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

  • The Matrix (with authors Jay Watson and Kyle Wiltshire)
    Aug 26 2024

Greetings! In this episode we are joined by authors Jay Watson and Kyle Wiltshire (The Dead Rock Stars). We'll discuss their novel, their love of U2, a little Nashville bourbon... and of course, the 1999 film that changed the world, THE MATRIX!

This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you listen to this latest episode of Stamper Cinema and I show you how deep the podcast hole goes. Enjoy! :)
