    Happy new year to Lee and Sean! They’re living in the past, having just experienced the advent of 2022. Please don’t spoil any surprises for them.Lee believes there should be a single true time zone. One time for all and all for one time! Also, it would be really great if you, the person who makes this sort of decision, would set that time somewhere around Hawaiian time. She’d really like the extra sleeping hours that would give her.Also, 24 hour time for everybody. No ifs, ands, or buts!The pair have watched The Matrix: Resurrections and there are many thoughts about this captivating and divisive film. Who’s to say if it should have been made? However, it was clearly made with love and care. More films should be so lucky. If only there was more bullet time.In what was streamed this time, finally. Finally, we’ve all reached the final episode of this interminable adaptation. It’s a shame that it’s with an episode that probably didn’t need to happen. Regardless, it wraps up several hanging threads that were left. Unfortunately, it hangs several more. Our dear Stu and Frannie are off on their own journey now, and they’re bringing Kojak.     Hey, we all just had our holidays! Ours were nice. What were things like for you? Happy Christmas, New Year, and… Valentine’s Day? There’s been a lot of momentous days lately.Lee is going to build an enormous Mecha-Teddy Bear and will soon be terrorizing some large city in the U.S. Probably New York. She’s going to become a fluffier, mechanized version of Godzilla, and Sean is here for it. Well, so long as she doesn’t try to become a baby Godzilla. Those things are too scary.A giant teddy bear, mecha or otherwise, is a whole lot easier to procure than a working time machine. Sean can back up that assertion. He’s got a good handle on the physics and math that a time machine utilizes, but who’s got the time to make one? And in this economy?The major topic at hand today is the sunk cost fallacy. What is it? How has it affected our lives? The pair are feeling mired in a muck of sunk cost fallacy over having to watch The Stand. They did it to themselves, though, and they’re going to see it through to the end.In what was streamed this time, things are reaching a tipping point out in New Vegas. Our dear compatriots, Glen, Larry, and Ray, have been captured and imprisoned by the terrible citizens of that wretched place. The veil is slowly being lifted from Flagg and his evil influence. A big, ol’ sphere of vengeful lightning makes an appearance, and there’s a big KABOOM on the way. Also, who are the people that are going out on Christmas Day to see a movie in the theater? It’s got Sean very confused.Lee quizzes Sean about the new Spider-Man movie, No Way Home. A movie he hasn’t seen yet—a situation he is very bitter about. He doesn’t want anything about the film spoiled, so don’t you dare tell him anything about it!The pair discuss the intricacies of what makes something a cake. Is it the dough? Is it the frosting? Is it some other sort of undefinable aspect of baked goods that does it? Who could ever know? Regardless, Lee’s getting a frosting of the month birthday present next year.Sean is going to start a commune. It’s a secret commune, with the internet and things. You’re not invited.     Sean burnt his fingers while making a delicious pizza. It nearly ruined his pizza-making experience, which is just about the saddest thing that can happen to a human being. How does one recover from that sort of blow?Lee’s a huge fan of giant animal bones in museums, but she doesn’t know how large they are in the internationally recognized measurement standard of a “Lee.” How many Lees is a giant turtle hanging in whatever museum she visited? We may never know.The pair of them come up with the scariest new horror movie since The Shining or Hereditary. Perhaps it’ll be called The Winnebagoing. Or something like that. We’ll let those Hollywood fat cats come up with the name and marketing materials for this masterpiece.Sean has a hard time with audiobooks, mostly because he has trouble with engaging with them. He’d much prefer listening to a podcast if he’s going to listen to something. He’s got quite the podcast backlog anyway. Those have to be listened to sometime, right?In what was streamed this time, Mother Abigail has gotten loose, and all of Boulder is on the lookout for this old woman. In Vegas, the mysterious and overly masturbatory Trashcan Man makes his first appearance. He’s tasked by Flagg with finding something that will make the biggest BOOM imaginable. Harold and Nadine have a boom of their own in the works, albeit a much smaller one. Who will fall prey to their evil schemes? Hint: it’s someone who doesn’t deserve it.     As of this recording, it’s Christmas time for Lee and Sean, and they are very excited about this holiday season. That means all sugary sweets and treats don’t count and we should all bunker down for winter hibernation. If bears can do it, then why can’t we?

    In the spirit of the season, what makes a gift a good one? Would you rather give someone a list, or let them figure out what you want? Is a gift card a decent gift? These are the questions that Lee asks of Sean. It’s holiday Q&A time. What do you think makes for a good gift, listener/reader?

    In what was streamed this time, IT’S VEGAS, BABY! Get your butts ready for debauchery, booze, and murder pits! Just like modern-day Vegas, right? Flagg’s got a non-stop rager going on in Sin City post-Captain Tripps, and it looks… uncomfortable. Certainly, it’s not like the New Vegas of the book. Back in Boulder, Harold is such a creepy creeper. He’s giving everybody the heebies and the jeebies. It’s bad enough that Frannie tasks Larry with breaking into Harold’s home. What will he find? Will Larry get caught? What did Harold do to Stu and Frannie’s bedroom? It’s so mysterious!

    Hello, One True Fan! You’re the best.The pair start by discussing terminology on film sets, which is something that Sean should really have a better handle on. A call to the President of Hollywood is made, and it turns out that the dude is a punk. No surprise there.It’s the holiday season at the time of this writing and it’s time to put tin foil and bows on trees now. Right? Or Sean and Lee could keep arguing about where to sit on a horse when you’re riding one.Lee’s asking all the good questions again. This time, she’s asking about what makes a recording artist someone who lasts? What makes a musician a classic? How do they last forever, and when can they become legendary?What will Disneyland be like seven years from now? Will intrepid archeologists uncover Walt Disney’s frozen corpse amidst the rubble? Whatever is found will surely be horrifying and thought-provoking. Also, the world is ending in seven years, apparently.In what was streamed this time, whoever heard of Las Vegas? Nah, we’re all Boulder, all the time, and boy is there a lot of drama brewing out there. Our “antagonist,” Harold, is feeling angsty, the ad hoc committee of this new town is sending people to their doom, and Nadine is pulling all of the strings. We’re also treated to more scenes from the past, including a disturbing bit involving a gross and terrible sex harem.     What defines beauty? Who or what is the arbiter of what we, as a society, should value in other people? Why should it all be about surface perfection, instead of the more meaningful universe of experience and emotions we all have inside of us? Shouldn’t we crave connecting more and dividing less?The pair believe there should be a hell of a lot more representation in, well, all media. In movies, there should be more starring roles for people that don’t look like those who have historically been given the starring roles. Stories would be more interesting all around, and we would be better for it.Both Sean and Lee have gotten around to watching the Netflix film, Army of Thieves. It’s a prequel to the zombie film, Army of the Dead. This one’s less about undead brain exploding and a whole lot more about safe cracking and falling in love. It’s definitely worth a watch.In what was streamed this time, we’re all introduced to yet another pivotal character in the saga of those who have survived a devastating plague. This time, we’re introduced to Nick Andros, one of the most intriguing people to make his way across the country and into Boulder. Who is this one-eyed, deaf, mute person with brooding intensity?
