Ms. McFayden holds a BA in French Literature from Cornell University and an MFA in Writing from Mills College. Her philanthropic investments beyond the art world address food insecurity. Ms. McFayden is the current Board Chair of The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Trustee of the Studio Museum of Harlem in NYC and also serves on Pratt Institute's DEIA Committee. As a black female art collector, McFayden’s collection focuses on works that reflect who she is: woman, black, mother, immigrant, traveler, survivor, writer, other.
