  • Cross-Eyed Bear
    May 13 2026

This week, (an utterly exhausted) Scott is on the east coast and (a much more coherent) Robbie is on the west coast…so they come together in the middle to talk about the suicide-by-commercial-jet incident at Denver International; the enterprising TikTok creator who secured pledges of over $330 million to buy Spirit Airlines; talk about fun and funny misheard pop song lyrics from the 1990's—

"Hold me closer, Tony Danza" and "Cross-eyed bear" come to mind first.

—the most rewatched movies in the U.S. are tabulated and your hosts each tell you their TOP 5—

None of the lists include "Encino Man," y'all!

—sources at Disney tell Deadline.com that "Hocus Pocus 3" has allegedly been green lit for a theatrical run; and, the 'Mouth of the South,' the cable TV revolutionary, Ted Turner, has passed away.

All that, and loads more pop culture stuffity stuff you just GOT to know for May 13, 2026.

  • Past Performance Does Not Guarantee Future Results
    May 6 2026

It's 05-06-26, y'all! It's fun to say that date out loud. It's also fun to listen and/or watch our newest pop culture round up, as long as you keep in mind that, "Past Performance Does Not Guarantee Future Results."

That episode title is kind of a nod to one of our big stories this week…the new concept of 'Blue Dot Fever.' (And don't worry if you don't know what that is; we'll tell ya).

    Also up this hour:

    • A salute to Mother's Day (it's this coming Sunday) with our Favorite TV Series Moms of All Time
    • Dolly Parton cancels her Vegas residency AGAIN
    • A United Airlines plan descended a bit too soon in Newark
    • A Delta passenger refused to hang up her phone—shocking!
    • Was Monday's MET GALA a boom or a bust? (It was sure busty!)
    • Can anything be done about the 2,000 pound sea lion?
    • And former child actor does porn. Once.

All that and more are packed into Episode 513. And for no reason whatsoever, hosts Scott and Robbie are depicted as their vintage selves on a tropical beach for the title card and opening theme. Just because.

  • A SWISH EXTRA - The "Michael" Biopic Review
    Apr 28 2026

The new "Michael" biopic from director Antoine Fuqua and writer John Logan—produced and approved by the (majority of ) the Jackson family—is genuinely a feel-good, sing-along inspiring ride. However, even though it's the biggest film opening of 2026 so far, it is not a hit with professional critics; many have pointed out misaligned timelines and the blaring omission of key people, events, and controversies that made up a significant part of the King of Pop's first 30 years.

That aside, we enjoyed the film, and agree the casting and acting are spot on, especially when it comes to Jaafar Jackson as Michael. He uncannily manages to channel the well-documented mannerisms, speaking and singing voices, and even the innovative dancing style of his late uncle.

We recommend the movie whether or not you are, or were, a diehard Michael Jackson fan. But we have a warning: what you will be getting is a sanitized version of what really happened (his own daughter, Paris, has publicly said as much). We are also looking forward to the much-anticipated—and now certainly green-lit, though unannounced—sequel that will cover his 30s and 40s. Unfortunately, however, we know how that movie will end.

In this 'Swish Extra,' we'll break down the movie and tell you what we think about the biggest celebrity biopic of all time, now playing at a theater near you.

NOTE: Do we need a spoiler alert for a uber-documented global superstar's biopic? Yes, we talk about EVERYTHING. If you want to know nothing, like Scott did before he went to the theater, see the movie first, then come back to our in-depth discussion.

  • Play It As It Lies
    Apr 15 2026

From their split studios in Las Vegas and Walla Walla, Scott and Robbie have all the silly pop culture news and views for April 15, 2026.

This week they're talking about the death of "H. R. Pufnstuf" creator Sid Krofft; home distilling spirits is no longer banned; the craziness that is the Coachella music festival, including all the headliners and celebrity attendees (like pop singer Katy Perry and her former Canadian prime minister boyfriend Justin Trudeau); tons of Madonna album and TV series rumors; Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding date and location rumors; where is "Who's the Boss?" actor Danny Pintauro now; "Back to the Future" actor Michael J. Fox is NOT dead despite what CNN said; Cameron Diaz is doing a "Troop Beverly Hills" sequel and stars with Keanu Reeves in AppleTV's new "Outcome" movie; and Tom Holland has a new Vuori advertisement that's going viral.

All that, and much, much more stuff you really don't need to know. Go figure.

  • Celebrity Overload and Chicken Coops
    Apr 8 2026

It seems we like to keep shaking things up here at the 'Swish Edition.' Because Kristin has stepped away from the podcast, Scott recruited one of his longtime friends—a fellow pop culture aficionado—Robbie Barnett to step up to the microphone from his home in Walla Walla, Washington.

In this celebrity and movie-heavy episode, the guys talk about the announcement that "Scream 8" is in development; a review of the new "The Drama" dark comedy starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya; Robbie's celebrity-filled con weekend where he got to meet the cast of "Stand By Me," including Will Wheaton, Cory Feldman, and Jerry O'Connell, pop singer Debbie Gibson, actresses Helen Slater and Morgan Fairchild, and actor Reginald VelJohnson; we talk about Hawaiian Airline pilots losing their battle to keep their facial hair; an entire shift of employees are fired from a Chik-fil-A restaurant for a tasteless viral video; another Chik-fil-A encourages patrons to put down the phone while they enjoy their meal with family members; it's rumored that super television producer Ryan Murphy is developing a new mini-series about the love affair between Fleetwood Mac members Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks; and, Scott tells his infamous Carrie Fisher cruise ship story.

All that, and more silliness, this week on the Swish Edition!
