Do you remember the infamous Mark Latham vs. John Howard "Handshake of Doom" 🤝? What was supposed to be a friendly greeting turned into a political WWE moment, and spoiler alert: Latham didn’t walk away with the belt (or the votes). Who knew a handshake could shake the entire nation?

We’re pouring one out for NBA legend Scottie Pippen 🏀, who officially retired, leaving behind six rings, countless highlights, and that one time he refused to play in a game-deciding moment. We’re talking legacy and drama—because that’s how Pippen rolls.

In the world of domestic legends, Martha Stewart 🍰 is fresh out of "Camp Cupcake" (aka minimum-security prison), where she not only did her time but also baked her way into prison lore. We chat about her caramel flan, the prison potluck, and how even behind bars, Martha was queen. 👑

And on the music front, we’ve got Usher’s Confessions 🔥, which basically had us all in our feelings, Guy Sebastian’s Aussie anthem "Out with My Baby" 🇦🇺, and Eric Prydz's club classic "Call on Me" 💃.

The screen was just as wild, with Shark Tale 🐟 swimming into theaters and Ghost Hunters 👻 giving us all the spooky vibes—because what’s better than haunted prisons and creepy EVPs?

We had to mention the chaotic debut of Desperate Housewives 🏡, where Susan’s clumsy charm, Gabrielle’s gardener fling, and Lynette’s kid chaos gave us all the drama we didn’t know we needed.

Get a grip on your tentacles because this week’s episode dives into a whirlwind of cosmic chaos and squishy surprises! 🎉💥

Asteroid 4179 Toutatis—the celestial tumbleweed that decided to drop by Earth like an uninvited guest at a hurricane party! 🌪️💫 Discovered back in '89, this chunky rock (about 4.5 km of pure asteroid madness) zoomed past us at a cozy distance of four lunar hops. That’s right, folks, just a casual 1.55 million kilometers away! Think of it as the asteroid version of a neighbor borrowing a cup of sugar—but WAY less likely to crash into your living room! 🍪🚀

Then, to the depths of the ocean, we've got giant squids! 🦑💦 Japanese researchers finally snapped the elusive critters in their natural habitat, revealing their bizarre beauty. Measuring in at a whopping 8 meters long, these squids are like the Kardashians of the ocean: mysterious, deep, and totally captivating. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, one of them detaches a tentacle mid-feast, showing that even squid can have a dramatic exit! 🎭😱

And just when you thought this week couldn’t get any more outrageous, we look back at the inaugural parkrun from 2004, where 13 brave souls ran in a park without a care! 🏃‍♂️💨 Founded by Paul Sinton-Hewitt—who was nursing an injury but bursting with motivation—this weekly gathering has turned into a global phenomenon! From fancy-dressed runners to dogs stealing the show, parkrun is the wild party where everyone is welcome, even if you show up with a cup of coffee! ☕🐶

So, whether you’re dodging asteroids, marveling at squid, or jogging through the park with a canine companion, this week is a reminder that life is just one big, glorious, unpredictable adventure! 🎢✨

Hold onto your iPod Classic and crank up the Green Day because we're time-traveling back to the week of 19 September 2004! 🚀

If you were glued to The Weather Channel, you might remember Hurricane Jeanne 🌪️. This Category 3 beast tore through the Caribbean and Florida with winds strong enough to blow away your summer BBQ plans (and maybe your roof). Jeanne became the deadliest hurricane since '98, giving us all some serious disaster-movie vibes. 😬

Meanwhile, over at Apple HQ, Steve Jobs dropped the iMac G5 💻, which was just 2 inches thick (futuristic for 2004 standards). It was sleek, white, and the perfect desktop for those of us who loved tech that looked like it came from a spaceship 🛸.

Now let’s talk music 🎧. Maroon 5 was crooning "She Will Be Loved" 💔, and over in the UK, Eric Prydz's "Call On Me" 🎶 was getting everyone to hit the gym—thanks to that infamous aerobics video. On the edgier side, Green Day unleashed their magnum opus, American Idiot, sending teens everywhere into full-on rebellion mode. 🤘 Sixteen million albums sold, and a whole generation screaming “Don't wanna be an American Idiot!”

On the small screen 📺, we got a double dose of awesome with the debut of Veronica Mars 🔍, the snarky teen detective we didn’t know we needed, and the mind-bending premiere of Lost 🛬. That opening scene with the plane crash? Jaw. Dropping.

And we can’t forget Shaun of the Dead 🧟, which landed in US theaters and gave us the perfect rom-zom-com combo—zombies, laughs, and a good ol' pint at The Winchester 🍺.

Ahh, 2004. Simpler times, emo bangs, and all.
