  • I'm afraid to feel my feelings

    Have you ever been told “You’re too sensitive”? Have you ever felt like your emotions were just a little too much and too overwhelming to handle? Like you’re afraid to let your feelings be okay because deep down, you assume you're the problem?

    I mean, how embarrassing is it to cry in front of your boss, right? Pull yourself together, girl! (Oh wait, is that just me?)

    So what we end up doing is, instead of looking those big, powerful feelings in the eye, it’s so much easier to stuff them away with food or drink and focus on the idea that you’ve got to keep it all together, because otherwise you’ll be a puddle of gooey, messy emotions on the floor.

    What if you’re NOT the problem? What if you CAN handle those big, powerful emotions?

    What if there were tiny steps you could take to allow your feelings and start embracing them, instead of running away?

    Today, we’re talking about feeling your feels. I’m opening up about some emotional stuff I’ve been through and my journey from ignoring my feelings and landing in the doctor’s office, to baby stepping my way towards the freedom that lies on the other side of the fear of feeling what you feel.
