  • Tapping into Your Inner Wisdom
    Feb 28 2024

    Episode #43

Consistency is key to so much in life but how does it really affect us? This episode with Nicole McGrath helps to dive into what consistency, inner wisdom, and the power of self can achieve.

Impact of Past Experiences on Beliefs and Behaviors

How does our past relate to our future? Nicole emphasized the importance of self-awareness and understanding that many beliefs and habits are not necessarily one's own, but rather a product of past experiences. They also highlighted the need to address and potentially heal these past experiences to improve one's current life. The conversation concluded with a call to focus on the present and remember that life doesn't always have to be stressful or anxious.

Tapping Inner Wisdom for Life Guidance

A discussion surrounding the importance of tapping into one's inner wisdom to guide life decisions opened up. Nicole suggested methods such as observing thoughts and recognizing negative limiting thoughts as not representative of oneself. She also emphasized the role of feelings as guides, noting that uncomfortable feelings indicate a misalignment with oneself and can be released or healed. Nicole shared her personal practice of giving negative thoughts a name to distance herself from them. Megan appreciated this perspective, viewing it as a concrete way to separate oneself from negative thoughts.

    Emotional Release: A Challenging Benefit

Megan and Nicole discussed the importance of acknowledging and addressing discomforting emotions instead of resisting or distracting oneself from them. Megan shared an example of how her husband was able to release his anxiety by articulating his thoughts and concerns. Nicole emphasized that societal pressure to avoid uncomfortable feelings often leads to resistance and suggested that releasing these emotions could help prevent them from escalating. They agreed that identifying and redirecting one's responses to discomforting emotions could be a challenging but beneficial process.

    Conscious Choices for Personal Change

Megan and Nicole discussed the importance of making conscious choices to effect personal and professional change. Nicole shared her approach, which includes acknowledging and expressing feelings, and then choosing a different experience, thereby effectively changing her reality. They also touched on the difficulty of taking action, especially when one is inundated with information about self-improvement, and the importance of validation and habit-building in the process.

Self-Trust and Small Changes for Personal Growth

Megan and Nicole discussed the power of self-trust and small changes in achieving personal growth. They emphasized the importance of focusing on one task at a time, celebrating small wins, and enjoying the present moment. They also touched on the idea of erasing societal programming that prevents people from trusting themselves. The conversation concluded with Nicole encouraging listeners to trust their inner guidance and take consistent action towards their goals, even when the journey is challenging.

  • Releasing Jealousy - Cultivating New Thought Pathways
    Feb 6 2024

    Episode #40

We all come up against them - negative emotions, connotations, reactions and more. But what do they really mean if we break them all down? Jealousy and the 'comparing' we come up against so often in life and business can be detrimental if we allow it to be where we operate from too often. In this episode we journey through breaking down where our feelings and thoughts stem from in addition to thinking about them in fresh new ways.

Summary: Understanding and Redirecting Negative Emotions Megan discussed the concept of jealousy, explaining that it's a feeling that arises when someone else's success or advantage provokes resentment. They expressed their personal discomfort with jealousy, stating that it doesn't have a significant effect on their life as it serves no purpose unless used as a tool for self-reflection. They also emphasized that someone else's success doesn't detract from one's own experiences. Megan suggested redirecting the energy spent on jealousy towards understanding the root of the feeling, desiring the thing one is jealous of, and possibly changing the situation if needed.

They shared their strategy of self-reflection, questioning negative thoughts, and using them as motivation. They stressed the importance of self-awareness, understanding one's triggers, such as feelings of jealousy or inadequacy, and communicating these emotions openly with others. Megan also emphasized avoiding blame and excuses, and instead focusing on personal growth and understanding.

Clarity, Trust, and Self-Trust in Life and Relationships

Megan emphasized the importance of clarity, trust, and self-trust in various aspects of life. They explained that these elements help in understanding one's thoughts, building relationships, and navigating personal and professional goals. Megan highlighted the role of mindfulness, effective communication, and self-awareness in achieving a balanced life. They also stressed the importance of gratitude and celebration to overcome feelings of jealousy or inadequacy in comparison to others' successes.

Jealousy, Grudges, and Social Media Influence

Megan discussed the harmful effects of jealousy and grudges, proposing the cultivation of a positive mindset towards others' success. They emphasized the prevalence of these negative emotions, particularly in the context of social media, and their potential impact on one's mental health. They encouraged self-awareness, effective communication, and trust in oneself when consuming influencers' content.
