• #TBR233 - (Every) Midlife Crisis (should involve a Harley Davidson)
    Jul 12 2024
Rupert Newman joined us to talk about his love for motorbikes. He may very well deny that it was a by-product of a Midlife Crisis... but not every Midlife Crisis is a 💩 show. There's a dawning realisation that your time on this Earth is short and shortens with every passing second. Rupert got his first motorbike in his mid-40s - which is the average age that one does, apparently - since then he's been on some epic journeys. Go grab yourself a cold one and check it out. • #TBR232 Politics begins at home
    Jul 5 2024
As the results of the Election are announced, we look at whether we should be voting for the party you support nationally or choosing someone to represent you and what's important to you locally. We take a brief look at Alsager and the candidates that you could have voted for. Do leaders debates influence the way people vote? Then we have a good ol' bicker about whether the Tory party are a bunch of self-serving liars, only out to line their pockets and the pockets of their rich benefactors or whether it's a belligerent media that portrays them that way. Yes we disagree and fundamentally despise each other's beliefs but ultimately we're still friends. Politics definitely angries up the blood! Go grab yourself a cold one, kick back and enjoy the 💩 show. The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodriguez and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford. tallboyradio.com

  • #TBR231 - The King of Indie Podcasting
    Jun 28 2024

Last year Beans and his cousin Beau guested on B Word's podcast Unfiltered Discussions to share their story of how they uncovered the missing branch in the family tree. Since then we knew we had to return the favour and get B-Word on to share his Podcasting journey. He began his journey with Bleach Bros a legendary show which, like Tall Boy Radio, bounced around and had a different topic each week... and if you don't know where they got their name, tune in to this episode - it cracked us up! His Unfiltered Discussions is a fantastic podcast where he discusses sensitive issues each week with his guest... he also is one quarter of the Raunchy Regret podcast, which is something different again. It was great to hear his take on Indie Podcasting as he tears it up with his B Word Media Group which has a number of other podcasts... and all in between he has great guests on Unfiltered Discussions like Burt Ward. Grab yourself a listen to his podcast here : Unfiltered Discussions | Podcast on Spotify The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rogrigues and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford.

    Jun 21 2024
This week we share our opinions on The 2024 European Championships : Can England win it? If not England then who will? Why when England win their first game 1-0 do the fans have a grumble when France do, their fans celebrate it. We also take a look at the upcoming General Election : Will the Tories get battered? Will Labour do any better than the abysmal last parliament? How will Farage and Reform affect the vote? Finally we take a look at tattoos - neither Gaz or Dave have them so what would it take to get them. Go grab yourself a cold one, kick back and enjoy. • #TBR229 - The Mandela Effect
    Jun 14 2024
The Mandela effect or false memory. Beans and Dave take a look at why it is so called - the science behind the phenomenon - as well as taking a look at the most common examples from the world of film and song (which was always going to be a challenge with Dave's appalling memory). Dave has done his homework and he brings a lot of facts to the table. But the thing with Mandela Effect is that it leads to a bigger question - if your memory is affected by your emotions and your beliefs then (a) how much can you rely on them and (b) just how close are they to what actually happened and how could we find out? We also take a look at the present in the world of politics and ponder how we will view these times when we reflect back on them from many years in the future. The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodrigues and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford. tallboyradio.com
