Born in 1939, Jerry grew up in Canada where at an early age, he began experimenting with electronics. Throughout grade school and into high school, Jerry had an engineering mind set where he would take things apart just to see how they'd work and put them back together. In the 1970's he created a device that is essentially in every household around the world, the Smart Thermostat. Leonard Rivers comes to us from Southern California. Born in 1947 in the town of Galveston Texas, Leonard details the racism he experienced first hand from an early age, attending a segregated school, becoming a track star, and going on to attend UCLA. Leonard also tells very interesting stories on how he was nearly drafted and sent to the Vietnam War, being savant like as a Certified Public Account, and how he met the love of his life, Gloria. Patricia Lay-Dorsey comes to us from Detroit, Michigan. Born in 1942, Patricia was born to a Father who worked for the US Government, and a Mother who put herself through a Masters degree in Social Work.  She has experienced many things in life including dealing with the onset of MS at age 45. This has not stopped Patricia from being active in photography, arts, music, and social movements. Listen as she describes her early years, meeting the love of her life, and a 19 day peaceful solidarity protest at the White House.
