The Activist Bubble

By: Megan Carnaroli & Sarah Steinberg
  • Summary

  • Activists Assemble! Join Meg and Sarah each week to explore and understand Democratic Activism in a whole new light. The Democratic Activist Community has been wildly under-studied and it’s time to change that. These interlopers are committed to taking an in-depth look at the dynamics that exist in this community that takes on the biggest missions and works tirelessly to create a better world. The Activist Bubble seeks to create a much needed space for conversations among activists to better understand their activism. We are more than our Twitter feeds or our protest signs or the number of postcards we write - and the strategy to create a thriving activist community should reflect that. Check out our video series, “The Activist Bubble Presents!” on YouTube and visit www.bluetentleadership.com to learn more!

  • The Just Crusaders
    Jun 29 2022

Today we explore the fifth and final group of Activist Leaders: the Just Crusaders. On the “Leader Ship” they would occupy the Crow’s Nest. Because of that bird’s eye view and perceived distance from the rest of the community, Just Crusaders are uncompromising in their focus on the mission - on what fights we’re in now and what challenges lie directly ahead. They are bold, passionate, and relentless in their advocacy and they are not afraid to let other Activists know what they think is just, no matter the issue. Sometimes provocative, Just Crusaders can ruffle feathers and challenge the rest of the Activist groups and there is no greater example of this type of Leader than a particular bespeckled boy wizard.

  • The Lead Actors
    Jun 1 2022

Today we explore all of the ways in which a Lead Actor Activist shines. These leaders stand out for the unique talents and skills they bring to the table. They are engaging and magnetic. Personable and passionate. Nurturing and vulnerable. On the "Leader Ship" they would be at home in the galley, as the chef. Leading from the "side" means that they contribute indirectly - so they might not be hoisting a sail, but the boat isn't going anywhere if everyone is hungry.  Join us to explore all the ways these Activists make a world of difference and how a certain lyric-spouting Ten Dollar Founding Father provides an almost perfect example of the ups and downs of a Lead Actor Activist and their indispensable role in the Democratic Activist Community.
