As grievers, it's natural to compare our journeys to others. Then, we can get into some tit for tat about whose story is "better" or "worse." Here, I share a little about why I think it's natural to do this and when I think it can hurt or help us.

It's a not so humble opinion of mine that indulging in creative efforts can change any human being's life. One of my greatest joys in raising my daughter was seeing her curiosity and passion for art. There were times when I embraced that side of her and other times when I could have been better. I made the mistake of passing off creativity as something you do later, after all the important practical stuff is done. I was wrong.
