The biggest game of the weekend was when KC Current met their match the Orlando Pride. Marta scored the game winning PK and celebrated their much deserved win, earning her Pookie of the Week! Congrats Marta and the rest of the Pride.

  • If You Truly Believe It, You Can Get Revenge
    Jul 4 2024
This was the best weekend ever for Lianna and Vienna because they got to witness Ashley Sanchez get revenge against her former club, the Washington Spirit, by scoring the game winning goal on Spirit turf! Lianna has been manifesting this for months, so if you truly believe it, anything can happen! This of course earns Ashley Sanchez the very prestigous title of Pookie of the Week.

This weeks Pride on the Pitch player is Canadian midfielder, Quinn. Quinn made history at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where they were the first openly trans, non-binary person to win an Olympic medal, when Team Canada took home gold. Now Quinn is headed to their second Olympics and we can't wait to cheer them on!

Lianna and Vienna also recap some more wild news and games coming out of the NWSL, including Amy Rodriguez being let go from the Utah Royals, after they played one of their best games of the season. Then they dive into the final weekend of games before the Olympic break. The biggest game of the weekend will be KC Current vs Orlando Pride. These two teams are tied at the top of the table and both unbeaten. Will a win streak be ended?

  • A weekend of Speck-tacular goals
    Jun 27 2024
This week kicked off with some big news coming out of San Diego, who announced they were parting ways with head coach Casey Stoney. Lianna and Vienna are left wondering, was this the best decision for the club? This week the USWNT also released their 18-player Olympic roster. Since Lianna and Vienna didn’t know it yet, they give their final wildcard predictions for the first international tournament of the Emma Hayes era.

Lianna and Vienna are too excited for this weeks Pride on the Pitch highlight, Kelley O’Hara. Kelley is one of their all time favorite players, and she has done so much for the game both on and off the pitch.

This past week of games were some wild ones. Most notably was Orlando’s 6-0 win over the Utah Royals, solidifying themselves as one of the 2024 powerhouse teams. We fear for Utah. We also saw Meredith Speck score her first goal 364 days after tearing her ACL. Some might call that Speck-tacular!

For the upcoming weekend of matches, Lianna is felling most nervous for the Courage @ Spirit match, where Ashley Sanchez will be returning to Audi Field for the first time since her shocking trade. Let the Ashley Sanchez revenge tour continue!

  • Give Me The Old Razzle Dazzle (Not 0-0 Draws)
    Jun 20 2024
The NWSL didn't produce goals quite at the same rate as we are used to... what happened to all the razzle dazzle? Lianna and Vienna also dive into some updated power rankings since this week marked the halfway point of the season!

This weeks Pride on the Pitch highlight is Gotham FC forward, Ella Stevens! Stevens has consistently produced on the attack, and has in turn produced some impressive attacking stats. And this weeks Pookie of the Week is non other than Kate Del Fava of the Utah Royals! Del Fava scored the late game winner, putting an end to Utah's winless streak.

Lianna and Vienna dive into predictions, and are looking forward to two of their favorite teams, Washington Spirit and Gotham FC, to meet up for the second time this season.

  • Red-iculous call or caught red-handed?
    Jun 13 2024
Lianna and Vienna kick off this weeks episode with quite a bit of News You Can Use, including the stats around the spectacular broken attendance records! Yay women's sports growth! It only felt appropriate that this weeks Pride on the Pitch highlight would be Christen Press, who is making her return to the training pitch exactly two years after being placed on the SEI list.

They run it back, going through all the games from the past weekend. Sophia Smith received a red card after earning her second yellow for what was deemed to be time wasting. Was this a classic, soft Chesky call? Or was Smith intentionally delaying the game? Lianna and Vienna find her antics to be hilarious either way, earning her the title of Pookie of the Week.

And then, of course, they give all of their predictions including the upcoming midweek games. This weekend has some exciting match ups that you won't want to miss!

  • You can't win a championship without gays on your team!
    Jun 6 2024
Happy Pride! Lianna and Vienna are kicking off their special Pride segment this week, "Pride on the Pitch!" This weeks Pride on the Pitch feature is Tierna Davidson; the centerback who scored a brace for the USWNT. As the great Megan Rapinoe once said, you can't win a championship without gays on your team. It's never been done before. That's science right there.

They chat about the large roster for this pair of friendlies, and put on their coaching hats to cut the roster down to 18. This was much harder than they expected!

Then, they cover the first two games of the Emma Hayes era, and they are excited with what they have seen so far! Mal Swanson is so back, and 16 year old Lily Yohannes scores a goal on her international debut.

Live your best life, and we'll be back chatting about the NWSL next week <3

  • Brace yourself (for goals): The golden boot race is on
    May 30 2024
Lianna and Vienna start this week by discussing the Women's Game most recent interview with Ashley Sanchez. They discuss the World Cup and revisit all the feels of not seeing their favorite midfielder play on the world stage. You can listen to the full episode at the Women's Game wherever you get your podcasts!

Then, they dive into this weeks most recent games. This weeks theme was braces (the good kind) (not the kind where you break a bone). Ella Stevens and Barbra Banda both recorded a brace this weekend and have the highest expected goals per 90 in the league! Cool stuff! Plus Lianna is begging the NWSL to start radio streams after getting stuck in traffic while on a roadtrip.

Lianna and Vienna give their predictions for the upcoming NWSL games in two weeks. They'll be back next week to talk about the international break and start celebrating Pride month!

It's gonna be the most wonderful time of the year <3

  • USWNT Roster Snubs & NWSL Pookie of the Week
    May 23 2024
Lianna and Vienna are full of feelings about the first USWNT roster of the Emma Hayes era. They are over the moon to see some new, and deserving additions, such as NWSL Iron Woman Sam Staab. But with this roster come some surprising exclusions, and they can't help but wonder, what else does Lynn Williams, all time leading goal scorer of the NWSL, need to do to go to the Olympic games in Paris this summer? They also discuss some exciting news from FIFA this week!

Then it is time to dive into the latest weekend of NWSL games. Lianna recaps her experience at the Washington Spirit game where the Spirit won 4-2 over Angel City FC, and Trinity Rodman recorded a brace. Lianna and Vienna felt treated this weekend to see yet another revenge goal, this time from Ella Stevens against her former club in the Gotham FC vs Chicago Red Stars game. Plus, Lianna and Vienna have a new award that they would like to crown this week: The NWSL Pookie of the Week,

They go through their predictions for the upcoming NWSL weekend before international players report for international duty. The biggest question of the weekend: Portland Thorns and Orlando Pride, two of the strongest teams in the NWSL, will be going head-to-head, but can the Thorns end the Pride's 10-game unbeaten streak?
