  • Ep. 5 X-Men the Animated Series
    Jul 13 2024

X-Men the animated series is the starting pointing for the new show from Disney's X-Men'97. We’ll be looking at two episodes that heavily feature Nightcrawler from Marvel comics. A devout Catholic and one of the few mainline explicitly Christian superheroes. Take a look at what all he says about God’s family, blessings, forgiveness, and the problem of evil. Also we get hear Wolverine read some scripture from Isaiah.

  • Ep. 4 Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Ark (Part 2 of 2)
    Mar 30 2024

Part 2 of 2 on Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first Indiana Jones movie. I will compare the movie’s and the bible’s representation of how the ark of the covenant looked and what it was for. Examining a biblical instance of the ark being captured by a evil foreign power, and scriptural instances of people actually dying from their interaction with the ark. A Jewish ritual from the movie, and looking at some imagery in the movie when they open the ark including its use of smoke, fire and lighting. I recommend listening to part 1 (episode 2) first but it is not necessary to follow along.
