There is one person in the South Lafourche community that can say that they are a military veteran, a teacher, a principal, a coach, a sports broadcaster, and a radio talk show host. The Cut Off Youth Center is a well-known establishment down the bayou and is home to the Hurricane Fest, SL Biddy, Hurricane Swim Team, and many other teams and activities. It also seems to be the home of a few other things on the spooky side. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month and Moms of Hope of the Bayou Region is doing their part to bring awareness and support to our community. Her father captured the spirit of the bayou through photography, painting, and even some carving. At a very young age, an artistic seed was planted, and it was not until her retirement years that she really found her artistic calling. In this episode, we talk to Lilly Collins Riera, a Golden Meadow native, who has found a way to revive old memories by bringing her painting talents and passion for antiques together, to tell a story for her customers.
