  • In 1961 Michael Rockefeller, the son of the prominent politician and businessman Nelson Rockefeller, disappeared in the swamp of Papua New Guinea while collecting art for his father's New York museum. Dutch authorities who controlled Papua New Guinea at the time ruled Michael's disappearance a probable drowning, but the more likely cause of death was likely a lot more shocking.
