Southpaws Tip of the week- Forehand Tips

    1. Grip: Start by gripping the disc with your index finger on the inside rim and your middle and ring fingers along the bottom of the disc.

    2. Stance: Stand with your non-throwing shoulder facing the target, with your feet shoulder-width apart and your weight centered.

    3. Reach back: As you pull the disc back, make sure to keep it close to your body for better control and power.

    4. Follow through: Follow through with your arm after releasing the disc to maximize distance and accuracy.

    5. Practice: The key to improving your forehand throw is practice. Spend time on the field practicing different shots and experimenting with your grip and throwing angle.

    6. Disc selection: Choose a disc that is appropriate for your skill level and the shot you want to make. Generally, overstable discs work well for forehand throws.

    7. Wrist snap: Focus on snapping your wrist at the point of release to add spin and power to your throw.

    8. Body rotation: Engage your hips and torso in the throw to generate more power. Rotate your body as you bring the disc forward.

    9. Release point: Aim to release

Southpaws Tip of the week-Disc Golf Mindset

Working on mindset typically involves self-reflection, awareness, and a willingness to challenge and change your beliefs and thought patterns. Here are some tips to help you work on your mindset:

    1. **Self-awareness**: Start by becoming aware of your thoughts and beliefs. Notice any negative or limiting beliefs you may have about yourself or the world around you.

    2. **Challenge your beliefs**: Once you are aware of your beliefs, challenge them. Ask yourself if they are based on facts or assumptions. Try to replace negative or limiting beliefs with more positive and empowering ones.

    3. **Practice gratitude**: Cultivating a sense of gratitude can help shift your mindset towards positivity. Take time each day to focus on the things you are grateful for.

    4. **Positive affirmations**: Use positive affirmations to reframe your thoughts. Repeat positive statements about yourself to build self-confidence and optimism.

    5. **Learn from setbacks**: Instead of viewing setbacks as failures, see them as opportunities for growth and learning. Embrace challenges as a chance to develop resilience and perseverance.

Southpaws Tip of the week- Improving your Accuracy

Improving your accuracy in disc golf takes practice and focus. Here are a few tips to help you enhance your skills:

    1. Choose the right disc: Different discs have different flight characteristics. Make sure you're using a disc that suits your throwing style and the shot you want to make.

    2. Work on your grip and stance: A proper grip and stance can greatly affect your accuracy. Experiment with different grips and find one that feels comfortable and gives you good control over the disc.

    3. Practice your throw: Consistent practice is key to improving accuracy. Focus on your form, release angle, and follow-through. Work on different shot types and distances to become a well-rounded player.

    4. Use visualization: Before you throw, visualize the flight path you want the disc to take. This mental imagery can help you focus and improve your accuracy.

    5. Stay relaxed: Tension can lead to inconsistent throws. Stay relaxed throughout your throw and trust your muscle memory to guide the disc where you want it to go.

    6. Learn from your mistakes: Analyze your throws, especially the ones that didn't go as planned. Identify any patterns or errors and work on correcting them in your future throws.

    7. Play with others: Playing with more experienced players can help you learn new techniques and strategies to improve your accuracy.

Remember, consistency is key in disc golf. Keep practicing, stay patient, and have fun out on the course!
