Welcome to Season Two of The Flipside where the themed topics of yesteryear and yesterday will be all things movies. What movies do you think is one of the best blockbusters of yesteryear and yesterday? Troy who will discuss the impact of 1975's summer blockbuster Jaws. Erik will than later explore the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day. In this episode listen to the two discuss what makes a blockbuster a blockbuster, is it the big stars, the time it is released, or the impact at the box office.? In the end, Troy and Erik will discuss most recent blockbusters such as Christopher Nolan films among a few selected others the two could not pass up discussing.

SEASON FINALE

We bring this season to a close by discussing "Sad Bastard" music. We discuss what it is, who makes it and why.  Song of yesteryear discussion is had over French piano composer Erik Satie Gymnopédie No. 1. The cocktail featured is The Suffering Bastard. The guys than discuss Radiohead's No Surprises off their epic OK Computer release in 1997.

In this episode Nate takes on a production role while Kurt and Troy have a thought provoking conversation about age with special guest Chris.

The guys evaluate artist who careers began later in life. What if they never were discovered? When is too late to start making art or music?

Chris discusses the discovery of Johann Sebastian Bach Cello Concertos hidden on the shelves only to be discovered later in life.
