• E25 Happiness Practice 4: Yoga Nidra
    Feb 17 2024

Hosted by Rosaria Cirillo, in this “Happiness practice” (5 to 30-minute recording in which we guide you through one practice that contributes to our happiness or increases our awareness), we recorded a guided #yoganidra session.

This practice includes the following stages:

    1. Getting ready with our body, breath, mind, and emotions
    2. Making a resolution/setting an intention
    3. Doing a body scan
    4. Focusing on breath awareness
    5. Going through a visualization
    6. Going through different senses' perception
    7. Repeating the resolution/intention
    8. Returning back to normal

This session has been validated with Himalayan gurus during my Yoga TT in Nepal, about which I shared more in episode 21 and in this blog post 15 takeaways from my Yoga Teacher training & journey in Nepal.

In the wider yoga wisdom, Yoga Nidra is one of the stages of Raya Yoga, about which we shared more in the blog post What is Yoga and what are the 16 types of Yoga connected to 7 chakras

In previous episode 24, we shared more about the theory behind this practice, sharing:

🌻 a poem written by Swami Satyananda Saraswati

🌻 a shortened abstract from the article “The Origin and Clinical Relevance of Yoga Nidra” published in 2022 on PubmedCentral

🌻 A few key insights from the book Yoga Nidra by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, focusing on the four main benefits of Yoga Nidra.

We hope you find both episodes insightful and helpful, and we look forward to hearing your feedback either in the Q&A session on Spotify or by sending us an email at podcast@wownow.eu!

  • E20 Interview 9. Meet Alwin Put, Author, Captain, Trainer & Speaker talking about Facilitative Leadership & Empathy
    May 12 2023
Welcome! In today's episode, our guest is Alwin Put, the author of Captains of Leadership: Build your Facilitative Confidence, a Design Thinking expert, sought-after facilitator, trainer, and speaker. He has a long track record in Marketing & Brand Strategy, working with start-ups, scale-ups, corporates, and his own ventures. His book summarises his learnings when leading co-creation sessions with countless people from all kinds of organizations.  I first met Alwin while I was delivering a workshop on using the science of Happiness in Business during the Design Thinking Conference in Amsterdam in 2019. Later on, I followed his journey of publishing his book Captains Of Leadership –which I loved and I highly recommend reading - and last year I followed two of his courses, one on Facilitative Leadership and one on Breathing work. He fully embodies and applies in his work what I call HCX: Human-Centered, Happiness-Contributing, and Heart-Centered Experience, and I’m glad to have had him on the podcast to share just a pinch of his wisdom with our audience. Alwin in 6 sentences: 💛 I am a father of two sons and a husband to an amazing woman living in the area of Belgium which is close to the Netherlands and Germany. 💛 I love reading and writing, movies, theatre, concerts, and basically everything that conveys stories. 💛 I have been exploring the concept of spirituality since my teens and I have spent half of my life in corporate environments and some but too little in start-up environments 💛 I honestly hate parsnip, it really makes me nauseous which is one of the strangest words to write in English  💛 I wish I could turn the whole world into Captains of Leadership. If that happened I would finally watch the news again 💛 To me, happiness contribution means making other people happy Here is a glimpse of some of the topics covered in this episode: 🌻 Definition of Happiness & his Yellow Factor Inward and Outward, 🌻Empathy, Autonomy, and Purpose, 🌻 Facilitative Leadership, 🌻 Importance and impact of managing our own state 🌻 3 key steps of facilitation: Guide, Conduct, Catalyze 🌻 3 key steps of facilitation 🌻 Golden nugget: there is no truth in life, everything changes continuously and there are just different perspectives. Facilitation is about the celebration of different perspectives. There is just creation, and life keeps changing and evolving. • E19 Happiness Reality Solo #2: the learnings from a tough time during my husband’s hospitalization. What depleted me and what enriched me contributing to my happiness even in hard times
    Mar 22 2023

In this episode, I share the highlights, and the learnings made during the three months of my husband's hospitalization and after, and what contributed to my happiness also on hard times.

Welcome to “The Happiness Contribution™ Show!

Hosted by Rosaria Cirillo (Happiness Change Catalyst, Certified Happiness Trainer, Customer Experience Professional, and Laughter Yoga Teacher), in “The Happiness Contribution™ Show” we talk with remarkable people about the various roles Happiness plays in our lives, and we share knowledge and practices about what contributes to our happiness and how we can contribute to others’ happiness as individuals and as business leaders. And we do so grounded in the reality of life.

Episode 16 –  the first episode after 3 months unplanned hiatus – was a “special” edition in an unusual format… a solo during which I shared the life that happened to me in the 3 months which turned out to be the hardest time of my life to date. It turned out to be a very long episode.

In the first 1 hour and 15 minutes I share the chronicles of my husband hospitalization and in the following 30 minutes I shared what depleted me and what enriched me during these 3 months. Given the length and the answers in the poll attached in the spotify episode which asked to split it in two episodes, on March 22nd I recorded this new solo where in the first 10 minutes I share really the highlights of what happened November through January and how I’m doing now and then the conclusions and learnings I initially shared in February in episode 16 (and that I will soon remove from there) including the insights from Tal Ben-Shahar on how to turn a traumatic experience into an opportunity for growth, and my overall learning and conclusion.
