  • Redefining the Future You: Get Connected to Hazel Brown
    May 11 2022

Its time to redefine the future yo with Hazel Brown, a Healthcare Professional who also serves as a Career Alignment Coach.

In 2003, she began my journey in healthcare- first working as a home health aide, later as an ultrasound tech, then deciding bedside was NOT for me!

After 7 years, I made the switch, she started working in healthcare administration support roles and quickly started looking at what roles paid the MOST money. After much research, I thought I’d found the perfect career for me, an Anesthesiologist Assistant.

What?! I could help put people to sleep and make six figures, OH MY! I completed my pre-requisites and then decided to have baby number two during the time it would take for the next program to begin!

Boy, was God looking down laughing at me! She ended up pregnant with twins, yes TWINS! However, it was that experience, being vulnerable and sick that led her to pursue a double master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Public Health.

From her personal healthcare experience, she quickly realized there were gaps in the healthcare system. In simple terms, it was missing the CARE in healthCARE!

On a quest to make an impact, she took on roles in HR, Healthcare Operations, Healthcare Management, Patient Experience Management and now I currently support patient education IT capabilities for hospital systems throughout the US.

She remain in the healthcare setting because I still have a lot of work to do in order to bring the CARE back to healthCARE. With our premium quality services, you not only get a healthcare professional who has the inside scoop; but you get a leader who is passionate about making a difference in your life and the lives of others!

She is here to help you navigate your career alignment journey as an Expert Resume Writer and Career Coach.

We help our clients reclaim power over their careers and pivot with purpose on their own terms so they can love life inside and outside the office & of course, provide a patient centered experience!

  • Data Visualization: The New Frontier with Asya Spears
    May 4 2022

Get connected to Asya Spears, M.S. in Biostatistics, Founder, Rose Data Studio.

In 2018, she took a 3-year leave of absence from my Ph.D. program in Policy Analysis!  This was a huge step.

She majored in math at an HBCU, earned a prestigious fellowship, completed several internships, and been on a straight and focused path from kindergarten to Ph.D., but the experience was no longer working for her. People questioned my decision to pivot when the prevailing narrative of making it through the STEM pipeline was to “stay the course”.

However, she switched from a CV to a resume, upskilled, and landed a role as a population health analyst at a health insurance company, and that’s when things finally started to make sense. She was able to lean into my passion for bridging people and technology, my skills for communicating data in engaging ways, and my passion for advancing health equity.

After many years of considering  data visualization, mentoring, and presenting skills a complement to my statistical analysis skills, she took every training and opportunity she could to put them in the spotlight.

As a result, she moved population health initiatives forward, created practicum and hackathon programs for students, and realized that we don’t all have to be data scientists - she could create her own definition of what it meant to be “in data!”

She founded Rose Data Studio to help others embrace their unique blend of skills and interests, and apply them to make an impact in this world of data-informed advancement.
