    As a young child, Nadia Nadim and her family fled the brutal Taliban regime in Afghanistan, after her father was executed for being a general in the army. Following a terrifying journey, they arrived in Denmark, where the kindness of a stranger set in motion a chain of events which would see them gain asylum. She has since represented Denmark nearly 100 times and played club football in several countries - including a hugely successful spell at Paris St Germain, for whom she scored 18 goals in 27 games.
