  • Furness Show 7-25: Laken Tomlinson, Hugh Millen, Corbin Smith.
    Jul 25 2024
Laken Tomlinson, Seahawks G sits down with Ian to talk about joining the Seahawks and what it'll be like to have Seattle energy on his side, as opposed to what he's experienced at Lumen Field so far. He also maintains his dedication to becoming a doctor and building a hospital in Jamaica. He also gives us an inside look at Coach Huff and what he expects from his unit. Hugh Millen is live out here at Seahawks training camp and tells us the differences he's seeing so far under Mike Macdonald. The atmosphere isn't that different from an observer perspective, but he's extremely impressed with the new defensive scheme he's seeing - and that's what Hugh sees as the biggest change. Finally, his take on what the Mariners need to do right now.
The difference between the Seahawks and the Mariners is that there is no complacency out here at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. Nathan Bishop sent us some stats regarding Julio Rodriguez and Jesse Winker - and it makes us want to tear out our hair. The offense continues to be dismal and great pitching is still being wasted. What can we reasonably expect at the trade deadline? Ian wants to see them actually take a shot for once. The new kickoff rules are creating quite a lot of secrecy as we kick things off. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald spoke after practice yesterday and we take a listen to what he had to say at the beginning of his first Seattle training camp. Abe Lucas is still out Can what happens in the next five games change the future of the Mariners organization? Ian sees this next week is the most pivotal in franchise history? Corbin Smith, Locked on Seahawks joins Ian out at camp and it extremely impressed with Geno Smith's arm talent, and has been from the start. That was never in question, and he's clearly matured since his days in New York. From a comfort level, Corbin gives him 10/10. It also helps that he gets his entire receiving core back, which is extremely deep. Corbin gives Jake Bobo a 95% chance of making the roster and the guys discuss who might be on outside looking in. Of all the positions where we will see moves - whether it be through cuts or trades - corner will have the most talented players part ways.

  • Furness Show 7-24: Dre'Mont Jones, Seahawks Training Camp, Gregg Bell, Stewart Mandel.
    Jul 24 2024
Dre'Mont Jones, Seahawks DE joins Ian live to discuss the changes in the coaching staff, his versatility, and what he expects to accomplish this season. Ian jinxed the Mariners last night. However, the results of the game are just a microcosm of the team right now. Implosion showed up in the midst of a bad slump. Polanco had a chance to change the narrative but didn't come through. Are they at rock bottom, while being in first place? What do you want to know about the Seahawks in advance of this season? We are live at Seahawks training camp and Ian gives his observations. What does Sam Howell look like and how could we compare him to Michael Penix Jr.? We take training camp questions from listeners. Gregg Bell joins Ian to discuss what he's seeing on the first day of training camp and shares some of his observations from the first day we're seeing the team on the field together. How will the offensive line look this year? Plus, with a new offense, everyone's at square one, so all are learning together. Stewart Mandel, The Athletic joins Ian to give us the latest on conference realignment, the future of the 'Pac-2' and whether we're looking ahead to larger changes in the future. Plus, are rivalries still going to exist?

  • Furness Show 7-23: Mariners, Joe Sheehan and Andrew Marchand
    Jul 23 2024
Last night was a heartbreaker for the Mariners, and it seems as though Scott Servais is losing the guys he could lean on, the most recent being Ty France. We hear from Scott Servais' postgame last night, and the tension is palpable. Ian took a gander at social media last night and wants to know why people are so angry at the Mariners - not because they don't deserve to be - but he truly wants to know what the fans are truly passionate about right now. Anders, Jess and Ian share their thoughts on what's making them angry with the Mariners right now. Joe Sheehan, The Joe Sheehan Newsletter joins to break down exactly what's going on with the Mariners, specifically to react to what Scott Servais had to say last night. Joe is surprised they parted ways with Ty France, who was third on the team in OBP. Ian thinks France is a scapegoat for all that's going wrong. What can the team do right now? Mariners fans are releasing their frustration on our airwaves, and we let them run with it. Andrew Marchand, The Athletic joins the show to talk about the future of NBA broadcasts on TNT and whether we'll continue to see the greatest studio show on television in the future. He also helps us keep a realistic view of NBA expansion in Seattle. When will we see the Sonics return?
