  • TIO 11: The emotional connection to health and illness w Sarah Hopkins
    Aug 31 2017

Can your emotions influence your health expression? Tune into this weeks episode of The Inspired Optimist Podcast with special guest Sarah Hopkins!

Understand how your mindset can physiologically influence your body

Learn how to identify yourself if you are falling into the overwhelm trap

Learn how sleep could benefit stress and how to get quality rest

Be equipped with action steps to reduce the impact that your emotions have on your health

About Sarah Hopkins: “As an adolescent, I struggled with my weight which drove me to extreme measures including constant dieting, occasional starvation and purging (most of which was ineffective). By my late teens/early 20s I believed I had it nailed – calorie restriction and a high level of punishing exercise was the answer. Unfortunately this formula came with its set backs and I developed severe gastrointestinal symptoms as well as amenorrhea (lack of menstruation) which I suffered with for nearly 10 years! The amenorrhea was a driving force behind my quest for health and wellness, intuitively I understood that if I was not menstruating, there was something seriously wrong with my body”.

“With a tertiary qualification (BA) from the University of WA and a background in Media Sales Management, my interest in and passion for health and wellness developed through personal practice over the last 20 years. I am now a fully qualified CHEK Holistic Health Coach (Level 3) as well as a Master Personal Trainer (Cert III & IV). I recently completed Reiki level one to enable me to work energetically with clients as necessary. My CHEK training forms the foundation and framework of my coaching with clients as it is truly focussed on treating the root cause of any imbalance, which facilitates great results”.

  • TIO 10: Body confidence with Dr. Katherine Iscoe
    Jul 6 2017

Do you suffer from low body confidence, self-hate and inner turmoil? You are not alone. In this week’s episode, I had the privilege of interviewing body confidence expert Dr Katherine Iscoe. What I love most about this interview is how up front, honest, and relatable Dr Katherine is. Tune in as we touch on topics such as bulimia, binge eating and excessive exercise and the long journey that Dr Katherine took (and is still on) to achieve balance and inner peace.

Dr Katherine has previously had a complicated relationship with food and spent many years partaking in fad exercise and diet trends, which have resulted in long-term damage to her health. Dr Katherine has now achieved a happy balance, mostly due to her extensive education in body sciences. She now seeks to impart the fundamental things she has learnt about the inseparable relationship between health, happiness and body confidence through her developed ‘Forever Approach’.
