In this episode, we discuss the trap of "I can" vs "I have." Many veterans get coaching to talk about what they can or what they could do instead of finding ways to use the experience they have to describe proof-points that they already have dome many of the elements to make them successful in the role they are applying for. We also discuss ways to use the many resources available today to come into a conversation or an interview speaking the same business language as the interviewer. In this day and age, there's no excuse for coming to an interview for a job field you want to be in without being able to speak as if you are already well attuned to the requirements and language of that role--we'll discuss how.

The military transition space is full of people wanting to give you advice. Paradoxically, this creates a need to even have a way to sift through what type of advice you want to take as you transition. Like all things, taking bad advice can actually be worse than taking no advice at all, but taking advice and internalizing great advice and taking guidance from the people who are in positions you want to be in, or have a similar mentality in how they approached their military transition as you want is invaluable.
