Marissa has a rather unorthodox approach to releasing the first book in her new YA dystopian series, THE KNOWING, and would love to share it with you. In The Knowing, a YA novel about a dystopian society comprised of the known, those for whom their year of death has been revealed, and the unknown, those who do not know their fate, the world is a very different place depending upon which group you had the fortune to fall into. At the end of Book 1, readers are given instructions about how to respond via email. I want them to BE a part of the story by sharing thoughts about how they want to see the story unfold. I want to hear their thoughts on knowing when they would die, and how it would change the way they lived. Readers have an opportunity to help create the story. I hope to weave in as many reader ideas as possible. It's an interactive experience of sorts. I'll take their feedback to write Book 2, and then we can do it all again for the next installment.
