  • 5 Tips for Avoiding Burnout As An Entrepreneur
    Sep 17 2020

In today’s episode, I’m going to share my top 5 tips for avoiding burnout as an Entrepreneur.

Contrary to popular belief, burnout doesn’t actually occur because of your workload, it occurs due to the resentment you feel as a result of saying yes to something you should have said no to.

In case you’re wondering whether you’re burnt out, red flags include emotions like rage, anger, overwhelm, loneliness, irritations, annoyance and of course resentment. Symptoms can include things like brain fog, emotional overload, low immunity, fatigue, fainting, hair loss, unexplained pain and insomnia.

In 2019 I suffered from severe burnout and this was a defining moment and game-changer for me. I knew I had to make some pretty significant changes and in this episode I tell you how I did it.

  • 7 Steps to Event Success! Step 3: Define Your Event Scope
    Sep 11 2020

In today’s episode I’m talking about the 3rd step of 7 Steps for Event Success, which is to define your Event Scope.

Your Event Scope is a high-level document that outlines your who, what, where, when, why, and how clearly for all parties involved in the event.

The key is to keep it simple and straightforward. Your goal is to be able to hand this to a new team member or stakeholder and, after reading it, they should be able to explain: what you’re planning, why you’re planning it, for whom you’re planning it, where and when it will take place and how you’re going to deliver it

The template I use for my Events Scopes has 9 elements and I’m going to walk you through all of those today.

If you’re new to this podcast and you’re thinking what are all these steps? All of this content is from my free resource called ‘7 Steps To Event Success’.

  • 7 Steps to Event Success! Step 2: Outline Your Event Goals & KPIs
    Aug 21 2020

A common question I receive is “How do you measure the success of an event?”

The answer is simple: It’s a mixture of hitting the mark on both qualitative and quantitative KPIs.

However, to know whether we hit them, we first need to define them.  This way, everyone knows from the get-go what we’re both trying to achieve AND exceed.

When it comes to outlining your goals, you also need to make sure they’re S.M.A.R.T.

  • How to Stay Empowered (And Focused) As an Entrepreneur
    Aug 6 2020

I often describe my entrepreneurial journey as a Six Flags Roller Coaster: a slow climb to the top quickly followed by a crazy fast downturn - sometimes flying upside down, going through loop the loops, and then another slow climb to a peak hahaha can anyone else relate?

While I have definitely achieved a lot of success, I have also had to overcome my fair share of challenges and learned some pretty big lessons along the way (more about those another time).

Thrive Global asked entrepreneurs to share their thoughts on empowerment, the advice they’d offer up-and-comers, the resources they rely on, and the brands they love. It was such a fun Q&A I thought it might be really valuable for my fellow entrepreneurs so I thought I’d share my answers with you in this week’s episode.
