• Crisis or opportunity? Don't let the Housing Market Headlines Confuse You, with Ken Raiss
    Jun 26 2024

Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the conflicting information about Australia's housing markets? Well, you're not alone.

A short while ago, Ken Raiss, director of Metropole Wealth Advisory, and I conducted a webinar, and even though there were well over 1,500 people registered for the webinar, I know the audience to this podcast considerably, considerably more than that, and so, therefore, I wanted to share it with you as well.

In the show notes, I’ll leave you a link to where you can watch the replay and see the slides. We are going to talk about whether the housing market situation is a crisis – or is it an opportunity?

We're going to unpack the key factors shaping the current housing markets and where there will be opportunities to thrive. We're going to talk about some proven strategies for making sound investments even when the market is unpredictable. We're going to talk about protecting your investments and give you some predictions about where our housing markets will be in three years.

So, rather than making decisions based on fearmongering, this episode will help you make some evidence-based investment decisions.

  • 7 money tips to supercharge your finances, with Brett Warren
    Jun 19 2024

Today’s episode will not be a property episode, but it will definitely relate to property and building your wealth over time.

Becoming financially fluent would be the best gift you can give yourself.

The challenge is who do you listen to? Who do you get advice from?

That's why, in my daily Property Update we deliver property information from a range of leading experts and I discuss a lot about how to become financially fluent, and that's why we have these sorts of episodes on the podcast.

I’ve found that getting sound, impartial financial advice along your journey to wealth is not a cost. It's an investment.

Interestingly all the wealthy people I know have advisors and are happy to pay for them. At the same time, the average Australian gets financial advice from Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and even podcasts like this.

So, despite that disclaimer, today I want to share seven money tips to supercharge your finances.

  • Strategic financing: unlocking funds for property investing, with Hung Chuy
    Jun 17 2024

I’ve often said that property investment is a game of finance with some houses thrown in the middle.

But currently, more and more investors and homeowners are having difficulty getting finance, so what should you do?

What type of finance strategy should you have to make yourself more attractive to the banks and why can some investors get loans when others can’t?

These are only some of the questions I’m going to ask today of finance strategist Hung Chuy, director of Strategic Mortgage Brokers and I asked him to help you understand what’s going on and how to get the banks to say yes more often to you.

  • Why the Band-Aid Solutions from Politicians Won't Solve Our Housing Woes
    Jun 10 2024

Today I'd like to explain to you why our housing crisis is going to expose some of the flaws in the quick-fix solutions our major political parties are telling us is going to solve the housing crisis.

I was writing a blog about this, and thought I've got to discuss it with you now. As a regular listener, you'd know I normally have guests on the show, but it's just me and you every now and then. And that's what this show is today, as I want to get out some thoughts about why our housing crisis will become a fierce political battle, and that could have major implications leading right up to the next election.

Both parties the major parties have come up with some ideas and they just don't cut it. So, if you're interested in property, as an investor, or as a home buyer, I hope I'm going to give you some insights into what's ahead and what not to believe when the media tells you.

  • What's Happening in the Australian Property Markets? Big Picture Podcast with Pete Wargent
    Jun 3 2024

Only a few months ago, there was talk about the hope of interest rates starting to fall by the middle of this year. Australia’s biggest bank in CBA suggested there could be six cuts in interest rates over the next two years.

And then things changed, inflation remained more stubborn and the economy grew strongly and suddenly there was talk of potential interest rate rises.

What’s ahead for interest rates and our property markets?

There are clues in the news as to what’s ahead, which I will discuss in this month’s podcast with leading financial commentator Pete Wargent, who brings decades of perspective to his views.

As always, we will discuss a raft of macro and micro economic factors that should give you clues as to what’s ahead for our housing markets.
