The battalion was given two objectives in December 1944. Storm Castle Hill located in the hellish Hurtgen Forest, the gateway to Germany, and hold the hill by any means possible. To the last man, if necessary. Unknown to the Allied forces, the Nazi regiments were given the same exact order.
