    We are Bobbye Jo Bailey and Lauren Matheson. Two readers who enjoy nothing more than discussing books, laughing, singing show tunes, and recording this podcast.


    This first season we will be reading books that have been (or will be) adapted into film or television. Those books include The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, both Six of Crows books, and the King of Scars Duology by Leigh Bardugo. We will also be discussing The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab and The Knife of Never Letting Go (of the Chaos Walking trilogy) by Patrick Ness. The second season will feature books that are reimagined from other stories, be they myths or classic novels.     The Knife of Never Letting go is the first book in the Chaos Walking trilogy. It follows the journey of Todd Hewitt, the youngest boy in a town of only men, Prentisstown. They live on a planet called New World where the thoughts of its male residents can be heard aloud.


    Todd is a month from officially becoming a man (at the age of 13) when a spaceship crashes, leaving Viola as the only survivor. Todd, Viola, and Todd’s dog Manchee escape Prentisstown as new truths reveal themselves. Their journey is a rough tumble through hard terrain and moral questions.
