The Pleistocene Era and the Jōmon Period

  • Summary

  • We begin 35,000 years ago with the earliest known humans who lived on Japan, the paleolithic hunter-gatherers, followed by the semi-sedentary Jōmon people. Little is known for certain about either group, but I try to construct a basic outline for what their lives would have been like.

First Impression

First time learning of pre-Jomon japan history. Even with little info regarding that time, it was still informative and enjoyable. Jomon period I learned a bit more than I did from other Japanese history books such as "plant husbandry". But overall its was all so informative and great.
