• The Put it in the Books Show S7 E8: Mets' Turmoil Tests Fans' Grit
    May 23 2024

This week on The Put it in the Books Show, Farace, Rodriguez, and Producer Joe (still comfortably ensconced behind the wall) are holding the fort as Keith takes a break—hopefully, to find some answers for our beleaguered Mets, but probably just to avoid watching the games. It's getting tougher for fans to sit through these performances; it’s like expecting a gourmet meal and getting ballpark nachos—stale chips with a side of disappointment. The Mets are in desperate need of an ace, with Kodai Senga’s return looking more like a 'Coming Soon' teaser that’s overstayed its welcome. Meanwhile, the big bats are asleep at the wheel, and we're all nervously waiting for them to wake up before it’s September and the car’s in a ditch. Down at third base, it's Vientos versus Baty in a showdown that’s got more eyes on it than a subway rat dragging pizza. Who will claim the hot corner? And more importantly, can either make third base great again, or at least serviceable? Chatter among the players has some wondering if they’re talking too much and playing too little. It’s like they’re trying to win games with words rather than bats and gloves. And on a hopeful note, Francisco Alvarez might soon be back from his thumb injury, hopefully thumbing his nose at pitchers across the league—if he can swing the bat without wincing, that is. Tune in for all this plus our usual no-holds-barred commentary. It might not make the Mets play any better, but at least it'll make you laugh about the pain. After all, isn't suffering through sports together what fandom is all about? #Mets #PiitB

  • The Put it in the Books Show: S7 E7 - Offers, Umps, and Uncertainty
    May 16 2024

Welcome to another possibly Farace-less episode of The Put it in the Books Show, where Mets drama is as consistent as a spotty WiFi connection. This week, Rodriguez, Keith, and Producer Joe (our resident wallflower) may be holding down the fort without Farace, who's currently listed as day-to-day—much like half of our bullpen. Topping our lineup of controversies is Pete Alonso: did the Polar Bear really swipe left on a 7-year deal with the Mets? It's like turning down a plate of hot dogs at a ballgame—nobody quite believes it happened. Meanwhile, whispers around Citi Field suggest it might be time to shop Jeff McNeil around. Is he trade bait, or just caught in a bad fishing story? In pitching news, Adrian Houser might find himself back in the rotation. It’s like rekindling an old relationship—you hope they've changed, but deep down, you know you should probably keep expectations low. And then there’s Edwin Diaz, on a quest to rediscover his magic like a wizard who misplaced his wand. But let’s not forget the real villains here: the umpires, whose calls have been more questionable than a hot dog vendor's "secret sauce." Are bad calls deciding too many games, or are we just looking for a scapegoat that’s not wearing a Mets jersey? Strap in for an episode full of speculation, sarcasm, and maybe a little bit of baseball analysis—if we're lucky. Whether Farace shows up or not, it's bound to be more entertaining than a rain delay without any beer. #PiitB #Mets

  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct Ep 97: Playoff Updates, NFL Schedule Unveiled, Goff's Payday
    May 16 2024

In episode #97 of "Unsportsmanlike Conduct," get ready for Farace, Tim, and Anthony to once again attempt to navigate the complex world of professional sports, armed only with their questionable wisdom and irreverent humor. The trio starts off by delving into the latest drama from the NBA and NHL playoffs. They'll offer updates with the kind of detail that suggests they might actually know what's happening—if you don't listen too closely. Next up, the NFL schedule has finally been released. The guys will dissect this much-anticipated calendar, likely confusing dates and matchups in a way that suggests they might need a calendar just to keep up with the days of the week. Expect a heavy dose of skepticism about every team's chances because, according to them, it’s never too early to dash fans' hopes. In financial folly news, Goff has bagged a hefty new paycheck. The hosts will weigh in on Goff's windfall with all the fiscal responsibility of kids in a candy store. Whether they think he’s worth the millions or just milking it, they’ll definitely give you something to ponder—or at least something to laugh at. And for the pièce de résistance, they break out the wheel to blind-rank states they’d like to visit, a segment sure to be as scientifically accurate as using a dartboard to choose your next vacation spot. Watch as they spin their way through geography, mixing personal bias and random whims to decide where they might end up—provided they don't get lost on the way to the studio. Join the fun in episode #97, where sports analysis meets the comedy of errors, and every prediction is as reliable as a weather forecast in March. #NBA #NHL #NFL #MLB #PopCulturePros

  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct Ep 96: Playoff Elite Eights, Austin Rivers' NFL comments, and '24 QB Draft!
    May 9 2024

Tune in to episode #96 of "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" where hosts Farace, Tim, and Anthony tackle the sports world with the subtlety of a hockey puck to the face. This week, the guys size up the Elite Eight of both the NBA and NHL playoffs, delivering updates with all the finesse of a Zamboni on an ice rink. As the playoff tension thickens, Austin Rivers steps up to the mic, calling out NFL players for not being NBA material. Our hosts will unpack these fighting words with the kind of serious analysis usually reserved for deciding who buys the next round of beers. Expect a few personal fouls as the guys debate whether any NFL stars could swap their cleats for sneakers. But the real main event? The 2024 NFL QB draft showdown. Watch as Farace, Tim, and Anthony draft their dream quarterbacks for 2024 in a segment that’s one part fantasy football, two parts dumpster fire. They'll make their picks with the strategic depth of choosing characters in a video game, and you won't want to miss the rationale behind their questionable decisions. Grab your snacks and settle in for episode #96, filled with the usual banter, questionable judgments, and enough dry humor to make a martini jealous. It's sports talk like you've never heard it before—because most people would know better. #NBA #NHL #MLB #NFL #PopCulturePros
