Everything from 2 months with 12 hours a day to 8 months to a year. A few facts about garments post-lipo. 1. A garment is a container to hold your tissue while it's healing. It will not get rid of swelling. Your Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage is what triggers the body to reabsorb swelling and urinate it out. You could be in a garment for a year and still not be healed because of swelling and fibrosis. 2. Garments need to be worn 24/7 until you're healed. A garment is similar to a cast on a broken arm. If at 6 weeks your arm is still broken, they put the cast back on 24/7, not just for 12 hours a day. 3. You still need to be wearing your garment if you have fibrosis and swelling. Your garment is your body armor. It protects your sore, swollen tissue, but the goal is to get rid of the swelling and fibrosis so you can get out of the garment. This means that if you work on getting rid of the swelling and fibrosis, you can get out of the garment faster.
