John writes the story of Jesus so that it can be understood that while He is human, He is also divine. John emphasizes the glory of Christ. This story often times has the emphasis placed on the wine itself being made from water as the miracle but could it be about the pouring place instead? It is when we run out of who we are and all of which we can supply ourselves that we reach the pouring place in our life. Who would be better to teach about the pouring place than God Himself poured out to us?
